Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:13 am

I liked in fallout 3 how u could only gain all ur health back is when you slept in a bed , but in oblivion when you wait u regain all of ur health back i did not like that tho.
What do you guys think?

Honestly, I'd like the only way to be able to heal to be going to a healer or use healing potions/spells.
But, meh. Too hard for "gamers" nowadays.

I hope they change it so that waiting doesn't replenish your health - I'm replaying Oblivion now and made a rule that I can't just wait an hour for a quick heal, and it's made the game more of a challenge for me.

Waiting should not replentish health.
and how much health you gain back should depend on how long you sleep.

The biggest problem for me was the fact that you would be fully healed after just 1 hour. Would be nice if waiting didn't heal you, and sleeping in a bed would lessen the number of hours needed for a full recovery. Or as mentioned above, maybe healers would make good use here ;)

Yes, but it should take a really long time. Like if you're high health number and are near death, it ought to take more than a day, perhaps several, of uninterrupted sleep before you could be considered 'healed.' If they add in injuries, only either a healer or something similar to the doctor's bags (alchemy may come up with something?) in New Vegas will fix those; sleeping won't help you set and fix a broken bone.

Sleep should also be a bit dangerous for some instances. Like, say, if you're badly bleeding or have certain diseases or poisoned, trying to sleep and regain your diminishing health might end up killing you. Of course, that might make restoration and alchemy almost too important and potions well worth keeping in stock.

This is all assuming Bethesda implements some type of injury and disease in game.

I agree, regaining health should only happen when you go to sleep, whether it be a bed in a Inn or house OR even a Bed Roll, which I hope we get in Skyrim. Waiting should only replenish your stamina and your magica, or mana.

When I wait in Oblivion it's usually because I want NPCs to heal. Those legionnaires should take better care of themselves!

And no I don't yearn for a return to 90s game mechanics.

i hope in Skyrim they make a hardcoe mode like in New Vegas. even though Bethesda didnt have anything to do with the game the idea of sleeping and drinking and eating being an importance to srvival makes the game much more reaistic and challenging. And waiting should not make health go up. thats like cheating haha.
