First, you need a grand soul gem or Azura’s Star with the soul of an Ascended Sleeper or Golden Saint (or a god like Vivec or Almalexia). Then you can try to make it yourself (good luck) or pay to have an item enchanted. When you have the enchant menu screen in front of you, make sure that the bottom left hand text box reads “Constant Effect”.

Keep in mind that you can enhance your intelligence through alchemy so you can enchant things yourself. however you may get some people around here who say that it's cheating or at the very least game breaking to do so.

All righty then. I have algorithms for most everything in the game, here's mine for enchanting.

1. Buy a couple Grand Soul Gems in Mournhold.
2. Buy or make an enchantment (or spell if that's not yet an option) to summon a Golden Saint mixed with the Soultrap/targeting glitch.
3. Trap those and sell these to the gem dealer and buy approximately a [censored]ton and a half of Grand Soul Gems, drop what you can't haul to your storehouse.
4. Buy or make an enchantment, preferably on a Daedric Tower Shield (the Saints drop this) that has Absorb Health and Weakness to Magicka on the maximum health and radius as well as Soultrap. Summon approximately a [censored]ton and a half of Golden Saints in an isolated area, and collect.
5. Either by Alchemy abuse or your newfound riches in these trapped souls, make all the enchanting, CE or otherwise, you could ever dream of.

First, you can buy a GSG in the Redoran canton of Vivec, and it should respawn in the merchant's inventory after a day or two. A second gem is available by doing a small quest for an enchanter in the Telvanni canton. That might be enough to make the trip to Mournhold unnecessary.

To do a "reasonable" CE enchantment yourself, fortifications on the order of 1000 are pretty much a requirement, although I've done a rather paltry and "minimal" CE item with fortified Intelligence "only" in the 200 range, and Enchanting skill boosted into the "merely" 120 bracket (even then, I was not successful on the first attempt).

The way I did it via paying enchanters was to load up on Telvanni Cephalopod Helms then make my very first enchantment fortify Merchantile on self 400pts for two seconds. Then sell any old thing for the price of all of his money. Note that you have to open up his barter menu before enchanting to get the money back.

Seems like this is the best place to drop my question simply because it's all about constant effect!

Well i'm playing a mage/caster and stacking intelligence on all exquisite items i can get my hands on.
I've enchanted most of it already ofc with intelligence but now i got my hands on a 2d exquisite ring and
while enchatning it again with intelligence i saw that it's also possible to constant effect enchant it with a clannfear
or other creatures.

Now i know these rings won't last the entire game just untill i find something better but for a caster a constant buddy who helps
you fight sounds like a usefull thing to be specially since you don't have to waste magick on your first summoned creature.

It's far better to use a summon spell with the soultrap/targeting glitch to get a permanent summon. And you can do the same with a cast on use enchantment, though as usual the only advantage is being able to fire off permanent summons as fast as you can work your left mouse button- useful for mass murder/soultrapping. The method you propose requires re-equipping the ring every time the companion dies, and the only advantage is a slight improvement in speed as to how fast he shows up when you equip.

I would like to add that with the regular game if you happen to leave your summons somewhere you are not, and cannot find them then you can NEVER take the enchanted item off or you will freeze the game. This was on Xbox, so there might be a console fix that I could have done. I dunno if this was bug-fixed in any code-patch or in companions, but I made a character with a permanent hunger follower and lost him somewhere in the wild around ald ruhn... and then had this problem.

You have been warned

Thanks for the great advice guys I'll be sure to leave the thoughts of constant effect creatures out of my mind now!

I'm curious about the summoning way your talking about flamingstealthbanana i know i've seen it somewhere before on this forum
or somewhere else but i don't know how to perform it ingame. I used to enchant rings and amulets with 24 intelligence but i noticed
it might be better to enchant is 1 to 47 and just eqquip- uneqquip the item untill you get a high number.

I created this spell so I could enchant w/out the need of an enchanter:
Fortify Enchant
Self
100 pts
2 or 3 secs

I added this spell effect 8 times on a custom spell, so I can have a maxium Enchant skill of 900, thus allowing me to enchant even constant effect times.
