Were-Yeti confirmed?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:41 am

There as an article that said something about were-yetis, I read it too. I'm almost positive it was a mistake though for the ice troll picture.

Then again, who knows???

What is the difference between a Yeti and a Were-Yeti?

Yeti is "normal", were-Yeti is beyond ridiculous.

I would assume it is half human, half yeti, like a werewolf

As Lady Of The Sky mentioned above, Yetis are already humanoid. This is beyond hillarious by the way, thread made my day. Imagine a Were-Bosmer

Hey everybody quit worrying. I will mod in were-yeti's, ice yeti's, were-trolls and ice trolls. Just as soon as I figure out how to use the Creation kit. It shouldn't take more than 2 to 4 years so just relax.

The link provided earlier in the post contains the picture name.

"elderscrollsv/Combat_TrollFireSword.jpg"

It's a troll.

I swear, if I see the redundant term "were-yeti" one more time... <_< Yeti/Meh-teh = "man-bear," Were = Man. Thus, "were-yeti" = "man-man-bear"

I don't know about the rest of you but i'd ply the hell out of a wereyeti.

For some reason though the concept reminds me of something from Scooby-Doo.

It's an intriguing concept though. Imagine fighting what appears to be a regular bandit who suddenly morphs into a huge shaggy white beast.

And a were-yeti isn't as silly as it sounds. A D&D character I once played managed to get cursed and became a were-donkey, our dungeon master had an odd sense of humor. And the transformations were more random and happened more often in times of stress such as combat, one minute my towering bearded axe-wielding barbarian is hacking away at a bunch of Orcs then suddenly its Eeeeaaawwwe and I'm this strange half human, half pack animal.

You don't get it. A Yeti is already a humanoid. A Were-Yeti is like a Were-Werewolf, or a Were-Imperial/Breton/Altmer. It is logicaly absurd. Because Were-Whatever is a cross between a humanoid and an animal. You could have a Were-Turtle for example but you can't have were-whatever-that-is-a-humanoid-already. Not because it is silly, but because it conflicts the very definition.

Were = man, wolf = wolf.

Wereyeti = man yeti.

It dosn't seem all that weird to me. Werewolves are already humanoid anyway, what with the way they stand up. To me it feels kinda like an incredible hulk trasformation.

I don't know about were-yetis, but there shoudl totally be a yeti hidden somewhere in the game. Maybe he'll be a merchant.

Or maybe Ma'iq should talk about were-yetis:

People seem to be happy that there are Were-beasties in Skyrim. Ma'iq thinks that they haven't seen a Were-Yeti.

...and now Bethesda have to put that in :P

I surely hope they are no were-yetis. The thing in the pic is a troll, so unless I hear otherwise from Pete or Todd, no such thing as a were-yeti.

A yeti is basically a humanoid ape. A were-yeti would just look like your hairy uncle. Also, there is no cultural history of people turning into yetis. Closest thing is wendigo, but the change was permanent.

You're still not getting it. Yeti = man-bear. Were-yeti = man-man-bear.

Maybe it's referring to Yetis that turn into wolves rather than men/mer that turn into Yeti? Of course, then were-yeti would be a misnomer; it would have to be a lycanyeti.

Bear?

And I still don't think it's a bad idea. I know to some it may seem silly and I can maybe see where you're coming from.

But it's kinda cool.

Let me get this straight. This entire rumour derives from one unofficial source which is riddled with inconsistencies, based on third-hand information itself and apparently wasn't fed through a spell checker for grammar and syntax errors? Ri-ight. :D

Also, the file name the picture was uploaded under kinda does give away what it is.
