Summoning?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:26 am

Hello all I was curious in the X-box Version of Morrowind (NON GOTY)
Are you able to summon multiple creatures?

Or is this only accomplished by cheats like the Soul-trap "glitch"?

Thank You!

(I am getting Morrowind for the X-box and am making plans for a character and this question popped into my mind lol)

AFAIK only one monster at a time is allowed in vanilla. I've tried doing loads of things save mod the game to find a way to have two or more. No dice

Edit: Someone else might have though

You can only have one Summon spell active at a time. If you want multiple summons you have to cast a single spell that has multiple summons in it. There's as least one enchanted item that does a multi-monster summon in the game, so you should be able to create your own spell. Note: A spellcrafted summon of multiple monsters will likely be a level 100 conjuration spell that costs alot of mana.

I was wondering because this guy has an Un-modded Morrowind and look at 6:15 and watch for about 1 minute he makes an army of golden saints but it looks like there is a soul trap part of the spell since I see the Soul trap particle effect at some point in it forgot where though...

it says un-modded xbox. I dunno, though. Because the "un-modded" part means everytime you summon one using the same spell, the prior one disappears. So I doubt very much the un-modded part -OR- the xbox part. (That being said, there might be some trick to it that I never heard about ;) )

Well I know for a fact it's an X-box version of the game just look at the map and the icons they are at the top left on the PC version if you put your map up there it has the funky border thing on it and the icons don't go up there at all.....but I don't know he has made several videos trying to prove that his save is un-modded...

But that spell is quite suspicious if its not able to be accomplished in Vanilla.

Ha we need HIM to find this Topic and post here lol.

When you reach the rank of conjurer, Felms Mirel, the Caldera enchanter, has several summon scrolls including summon Golden Saint, which he restocks.

He's not switching his spell or magic item, and in Xbox MW if you use one scroll you have no magic item selected for use without changing (you can open the magic menu or cycle thru the list, but if you cycle thru then it displays the spell/item name above your healthbar in bottom left corner, so it definately would show up if it was a change to another spell)

I dunno how its being done, I have played xbox MW for like 4-5 years. I STILL play it cuz this is a borrowed computer and I have to wait until I get my own for any modding.

-EDIT- for spell check

You can have an army of conjured creatures with enchanted items doing the conjuring (in vanilla, yes). You just have different creature conjures in various enchanted items and cycle through them to conjure several things at once.

Could it be a variation of the Soultrap glitch? But instead of increasing stats it makes permanent Summons

This is it, the soultrap glitch can work with just about everything, including summoning creatures, or even bound items (though I highly recommend against this) I feel that using that takes the fun out of the game however.

Well that sums it up thank you lol.....sad that its a cheat though would have been cool to do but i don't use cheats or glitches..it ruins my overall fun experience in playing the game lol.

Ah yes, I did this once a long while ago. You think you are so tough and overpowered but when you let 50 Golden Saints whack at you for a while few things can save you. :)

Also, if you look closely, he is casting on target spells not on himself......that would have something to do with it.

Yea, the soultrap glitch will give you perma summons, but you can also create a new summoning spell and call it something different like Summon Skeleton2 and and it will allow you to have more than one of the same creature type.

That's not cheating if you do that.

WAIT WAIT WAIT lol

So if I cast summon Skeleton then I cast another spell named Summon Skeleton 2 then I will have two skeletons?

Or if i cast Summon Golden Saint then I cast another spell for summon Skeleton I will have those two creatures the other one wont disappear?

Yea, it works like that. The name of the spell shouldn't matter as long as you have a completely different spell in your spell list. You haven't been able to summon a skeleton and a golden saint at the same time in your game?

For Xbox MW, if you cycle thru different spells or enchanted items the name of the spell/item shows up on-screen.

Yeah, if you have the mana, you can cast multiple spells to give you more than one summons. If you take advantage of uber-powering (massive alchemy/massive fortify exploits for example) then you can use summons for the maximum of 8 spell effects = 8 creatures summoned. -BUT- the xbox is easily overpowered by too many summons, and if you do too much when too much is going on (too many characters in the area, for example) the xbox will freeze and you have to reset.

In the video, he used the soultrap glitch for the saints.

If you have a spell with multiple summon effects, you can summon them all.

Ex: This is one spell

Summon Golden Saint for 30 secs on self
Summon Bonewalker for 30 secs on self
Summon Dremora Lord for 30 secs on self
Summon Scamp for 30 secs on self
Summon Ogrim for 30 secs on self
