Snow Heights?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:29 pm

I have read that the Snow will fall from sky and deposit on the groundand the things , cumulating , am I wrong? If so will we have different levels of snow ? Like

Almoust flat that just leaves footprints

small deep that sinks your feet

Deep that reaches up to your knees and you leave a long trail when you move into it of course slowering you a lot and fatiguing

Very deep reaches the ankles and its a nightmere to cross , very slow walk and leaves behind a big trail...

about other surfaces like Frozen rocks and Icey grounds will they be slippery , or have a difference between a thin layer of water frozen and a big one?

Well at least something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4MvrI7u9ZI
Uncharted 2 did that in 2009, and only a tiny bit of the total game environment is based on snow.

I bet Bethesda could do better in a game released almost near 2012, and considering a huge part of the game environment is actually based on snow.

It would be incredibly disappointing (sorry for sounding as a pessimist, but I find it true) if snow on the ground is just a flat texture that you can walk on top of no matter what.

It would be really cool if this was in. Imagine tracking a creature that left a trail in the snow. Would make hunting really fun.

You need to find a better example because that is just not done well. The techniques used in that game have been around for years and years.

That's why I said "Well at least something like this http://www.youtube.c...h?v=p4MvrI7u9ZI
"I bet Bethesda could do better in a game released almost near 2012"

Sinking in, slowing down, some affect on fatigue regeneration/reduction would all be great and realistic. There could also be some perks that mitigate penalties or give benefits for traveling or fighting in the snow.

Possibly with blood drops in the snow from where your arrow has wounded them?

Skyrim releases eleven days after uncharted THREE, so if naughty dog was doing that on the ps3 in 2009 with uncharted TWO I feel pretty good that bethesda will have some good snow effects.

If the snow and ice is even CLOSE to the greatness of Uncharted 2, I'll be satisfied.

I hope that the snow can be walked IN instead of ON.

With that said, no matter how it works, first mod I am making is going to make everything snow, 100% of the time. :D

You want it to snow every second of gameplay?

For my second/non serious playthrough: YES.

Mostly I want to see how high a person can pack the snow. But I do love snow just for the sake of it. :D

The Uncharted demo there looked like she was just walking through snow that had no effect at all on her. Snow must have some effect on the character and footprints should not go away for a long long time so hunting would work.

I doubt they would have built up attention towards the snow in the GI article if snow was going to work the same as it did before. So yeah, it will accumulate and you will leave tracks. I'm sure the game will stop the snow when it reaches to high or something like that. I doubt we will find piles of snow that reach our knees.

Will snow build up on our character or will he/she be immune to it?

Would also be cool if the cold forced the player to wear pelts and stuff to protect ...
