There is no team deathmatch.

And it's always 8v8 max.

8v8 is the set number, also there is no Team Deathmatch so to speak by what I have seen, its all like an objective based game for thematch and what team completes there objective or holds the other team off

I heard during the Qore interview that you can set up a custom match with friends. I don't know how much customization but i think it will be like COD private matches.

So far, multiplayer is just multiplayer campaign. I'm not sure what's going to happen, since playing the campaign missions over and over could get extremely dull. Hopefully there'll be a lot of followup after the game comes out like with Bad Company 2.

Yeah, play around with things like how many bots there are, friendly fire, all that good stuff.

You can turn off bots and just play TDM, but the objectives are still there, it's not TDM.

I read it as teamdeathsnatch.

Real shame they're not putting in more classic FPS game modes like TDM. Despite what a lot of people on here believe, it can be done without affecting the rest of the game. Just needs a few restrictions. Make them separate from the main game, make it do that you get very little if no XP from it, etc.

You could just play normal maps and turn off bots and not attack objectives. Suddenly, you have TDM!

(Security sneaks in, snatches Resistance's death)

Security: "Olly wolly polly woggy ump-bump fizz!"

Resistance: "HEY!"

Is it bad that my mind went to Calvinball?

Yeah, you could, but then there's this whole "trust" issue you have to deal with. You have to trust that the other team isn't going to run ahead and complete the objectives just to mess with you and make you lose.

it's like how in some games people try to organize a pistols only match. Because you can't lock out other weapons in most games, you kind of have to trust that everybody is only going to use pistols. And of course halfway into the match someone pulls out a shotgun and lays waste to the other players.

I'll say this is the closest thing you will get to TDM.
If custom maps cannot be made for the game, then yeah. The objectives are fixed.

The correct name of the mode is "Capture The b33r".

TeamDeathSnatch is the mode in Super Smash Bros where both teams play as Yoshi, run to the nearest hole, and power dive off the edge. I spent many minutes playing that mode.
