Varlasel

Welcome to Varlasel, a large Ayleid home based high up in the Jerral Mountains near Dive Rock. The house contains multiple cells,(total of 7) and each chamber is far bigger than I could have imagined it becoming. Still a work in progress, the home will have many features. These include:

Spellmaking
Enchanting
Training area
Bedrooms for at least five companions- This may grow up to 10 rooms for companions.
Throne room
A beautiful view where you can see the sun rise and set in spectacular settings.
A teleporter system to each guild hall and the Arcane University

These have already been build and all ready in the initial release. There will be many more features that will be included in the home. This is my first mod, and it will continually grow until I am satisfied with it's condition.

Requirements:
latest patches both official and unofficial: I have them installed, shouldn't be an issue, but have it anyways.

Recomended mods:
A training dummy mod- any will do, the ones that let you train your skills with dummies
Where this can be downloaded:
TES Nexus
TESA

Current status:Version 1 out given that there is no bugs it's good to go with only some add ons.
What's included:

Spellmaking
Enchanting
Training area
Companion section
Throne room
Treasury with altars for mannequins
Player's own bedroom
Magic hall with teleporter system
Priceless "clutter" that are prime for thieves.
Small quest to find the home - nothing spectacular

I would like to thank...
Lady Li- birds of paradise
Ceano- for being so gracious in giving me the permission to use his Ayleid resources.
Meo- for the Ayleid clutter, open books, series books- very handy and useful made life infinitely easier.
Bethesda- For making Oblivion
Bethesda Forums- Thank you everyone for the kind words and support and answering my questions
TES Alliance: Again for kind words and support
Myself: For being insane enough to go for such a large project for my first mod.
For the Oblivion Community for their overall unexpected enthusiasm towards the release of the mod.

I plan on continuing the work on this mod continually, scripting, tweaking adding more and more stuff. But now, it has arrived finally after almost two months of hard work. Please download, give me your thoughts inputs ideas. I want this to be grand, an incredibly grand home.

Thanks, tell me what you think, I'm always looking for advice on what to change. I'll probably be working on this thing until tes5 comes out most likely.

shameless bump and I have a question for everyone here.

How would you guys like me to have a quest of the home done? Quest to find the key to the house, then find other goodies within it? or something more detailed?

For me, quests are always preferred than getting a free home... so I vote for a quest!

One small quest is already in the works, just for some spell books, another is in the planning phases for a key to the main home, they key will be hidden in the first floor some wheres. From there on there will be even more quests, getting larger as I learn more about scripting.

I'll probably bring this house eventually up to the level of the other large quest based homes. When I get to learn modelling and texturing, there'll be even more to add. I plan on maybe making a true floating isle. Loaded with Magicka, and powered by massive Meteorite crystals, including varla and welkynd stones.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Currently I'm working on putting a few weapons in, they'll be scarce adding some books with new spells attached That'll be done hopefully by the weekend. Have a few other things to add to bring the completion levels up some.

Ok, been a long time since I put any new updates or progress for this and it needs a bit of a bump. The mod is still alive, to anyone whom liked it, College has been abusing me horribly with C++ homework assignments. Hopefully during my spring break, between bits of homework and catching up, I'll get some work done on the mod. It maybe even more likely that progress will pick up when the semester ends.

What I have left:

Quests:
Layout and planning - I still have a bit to do with planning, still not 100% sure on what I want to do.
Scripting- There's a couple things that need to be done for scripting, I don't plan on making a massive quest right now however, I do have an idea for something later on. But right now the scripts that I have in it will include, spell tomes to teach spells, a working repair anvil which may have a bit of a delay for the menu, so everything comes up.(you get a free hammer in the process, not too shabby no?) as for the home quest, I'm debating exactly what to do. I have a few leads.

I'm planning on looking into adding COBL soon, exactly when I am not exactly sure, seeing how finals is coming up with college and my final project for my game programming class is going to take up a lot of time. I plan on once I get done with the semester(hopefully pass the programming class) I will begin work on adding COBL items. Luggage will be placed in the main living quarters, and I'm planning on adding the static alchemy and alchemy sorters in the magic area of the home.

I just hope that you enjoy the house. There's a small quest, and I plan on adding some spell tomes before I work on the COBL items.

Looking at the screen shots, I don't think it's compatable, Varlasel's at -36. -37 and the adjoining cells. the very top of the mountain that has dive rock. Cold stone looks nice, Sad that I hadn't done full research if I knew a large mod was there. I know the lil gully nearby just behind dive rock there's some bruma style homes there. I would Like to say that I'd move it further north towards bruma or even high above chorral, but UL i believe is up around there.
