PC LAN Support?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:20 am

Will this game support off-line LAN play for PC's? This has not been answered yet.

Many have speculated that it will - others have said it won't.

Just looking for a DEV to speak up and tell us what we are buying before we pre-order.

I think in some (very old) interview Richard Ham said that BRINK would allow LAN-play for PC. But it has really never been a topic in the recent interviews, because - quite frankly - all the interviewers are console-people.

Same question for me--I assumed it would be in the FAQ.

These days when i don't see it explicitly mentioned I assume the worst. I'm wondering if this is going to be a game that is LAN-party / tournament compatible.

Too many consolised games are abandoning LAN server compatibility, but it IS a deal-breaker. Many clan gamers have LAN parties and we're fed up with having to go back to 2005 games to play anything on the LAN.

Developers need to offer the option of LAN based servers. Surely validation can be acomplised for each client via the server, so legal copies are used, but a 100MB hardline isn't required for 30 players to play.

Clans would pay for the LAN server install. We're not asking for a free lunch, we just want the knife & fork in the same country!

Good question, but don′t forget Brink is powered by Steam - and Steam offers an offline mode. So it could be possible, but a clarify developer post would be great.
