DarkUI'd DarN 1.6 loading screens question

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:47 am

Got and love DarkUI'd DarN 1.6...in the OMOD setup, I believe I selected the option to use the DarN loading screens, or something to that effect, but while everything else is good, the loading screens are still vanilla. Do I have to get the loading screens in another download?

Thanks

Make sure you have BSA Redirection turned on in OBMM. Go to Utilities>Archive Invalidation and select BSA Redirection. If that does not work, go back there and use the "Reset BSA Timestamps" feature.

BSA redirection is selected, and I've not installed any patches recently to have to reset the timestamps. (unless I misunderstand OBMM)

I think you should try it anyway. The most common cause for loading screen replacers not to show up is to have the files dated older than the BSA containing the files they need to overwrite. This mod does not include a plugin, does it?

Edit: If that does not fix your problem, make sure the loading screens are actually installed and installed to the right location.

Reset the timestamps, no loading screens. Forgive my ignorance, but I'm pretty sure there's no plugin (.esm or .esp) if that's what that means. I'm not sure how to find out if the loading screens are installed or in the right location because I don't know if they were included in the DarkUI'd DarN 1.6 download in the first place! Can't seem to find a separate download for the loading screens, if that's what I need...

I'll recheck the readme when I have time

Ok the readme says the DarN loading screens were included but I can't find them...mleh. I got the OMOD version, so I'm not sure where to look. There doesn't seem to be an "Optional/Alternate Loading Screens xml file or folder anywhere (at least in the Oblivion data folder)

If you have the OMOD version, you should not have to do anything extra. The OMOD version was an actual OMOD and not just OMOD-Ready, right?

Err... All that gets changed in terms of Loading Screens in DarkUI'd DarN is the *format* of the loading screen. You know, text size, that kind of thing. If you want to change the loading screens themselves, you'll need to download and install a mod for that. I'd recommend Galahaut's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8958.
