Kinect?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:53 am

So I dont know if anybody has touched on the topic yet, but, was curious about what could be don with the kinect?

Would it be possible to do things like facial scans, that would allow gamers to use their own likeness in order to get
a greater level of immersion.

I dont really care about many other game play aspects. I just think that it would be cool to see my face on the character
that im controling.

Been discussed to death, this will be locked, unfortunately. Kinect is already confirmed NOT to be in.

Well, it's been touched on about 6 other times or more besides this one, and the answer has always been a resounding NO.

Besides, with a multiplatform game, you have to consider the fact that not all the platforms have access to something like the Kinect, nor do all the players of said game.

I don't think there will be anything related to Kinect in Skyrim, but there's been no official word on it as far as I know.

[Edit] Seems it has been confirmed not to be in, so there you go. Every day's a schoolday!

Any motion devices will be used in Skyrim. This has been discussed many of times already.

With the exception of Nintendo, game developers don't like these motion-detecting controllers in anything other than party games. And even Nintendo's motion-sensing support is minimal in their core games (Mario etc), compared to their more gimicky titles (compare the control scheme of say, Super Mario Galaxy to Wii Sports, for example).

I haven't played with the Kinect or the Move, but they're both exclusively party game accessories at the moment.

It's a shame, because there's definitely potential.

No, but it would have been nice if they added head tracking support. As the Kinect, Move, and PC are ALL capable of head-tracking to various extent.

It was confirmed in an European magazine excerpt. Apparently its taxing on memory. Im kind of disappointed as it would be a really good way to create faces.

I wouldn't want Skyrim or any Elder Scrolls game to use motion controls. I like it how it is, with a mouse or a controller.

Actually, that’s the one decent suggestion for its use that Ive read.

What? It can be used for a multitude of things. Controls, voice recognition/conversation, facial recognition, scanning of objects, head tracking, etc etc.

See lower portion of OP:

There it is from The Man himself. No Kinect.
