CW raiders Vs...NV Raiders

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 11:39 pm

The raiders in FNV should have never been equiped with the weapons they have. It makes no sense that they can get a hold of that weaponry.

Maybe these raiders raid the Gun Runners energy weapon transports on their way from L.A. to Vegas?

No No No! You guys, i have said this before, it was the Van Graffs who raided the Gun Runner EW caravans, because the people who did knew exactly what caravans to hit and had the power to dispatch the guards, not to mention disarm and open the cases, and since the BoS is in lockdown, coupled with the poor condition and high price of Van Graff weapons, it can be assumed that they raided the caravans. The Fiends got their Energy Weapons from the Vault whom's people they massacred, there is also evidence that the Van Graffs sell EWs to the Fiends, but this is just a possibility.

I think it makes even less sense that the CW raiders have fatmen than Fiend having energy weapons. The fiends may be the reason why the Gunrunners don't sell energy weapons out there any more, that or the Van Graffs raid their caravans too to reduce competition in the energy weapon market.

Neither, Talon Company would show up and kill them both.

Well, that explains it alot. The Van Graffs sure are shady business.

Now...

Where do the CW raiders get their advanced gear?

Bethesda gives it to them so they can be efficient XP fodder, at least Talon Company is organized enough so it makes sense they have good gear, but i dont see how the Raiders get their stuff, i mean they may get it from Wheaton Armory, but it is mostly empty by the time you get there.

I think the raiders get it from dead BoS, Outcasts, and Talon Company Mercs. but they generally have crappy gear.

Yeah, their armor and lack of skill is what makes them less dangerous, the best they have is metal armor, and they are bloody inaccurate. When i had Fo3 for PC, i did tests, TC Mercs and BoS Knights are substantially more accurate than raiders.

NV has got better gear but the CW has the numbers, seriously everytime you turned around there was a new raider hideout popping up from somewhere.

Wow the cw raiders are scavengers they got thier gear from military bases like the one by the junkyard that they control. Also like you can go around and find stuff so can raiders. The raiders in cw have been out there far longer than the player, so out of pure setting context u shold be able to understand how raiders get weapons. Now the nv raiders same deal weren t there alot of wars out west Enclave vs bos bos vs ncr ncr vs Enclave. Just think the fiends r even allowed outside the map. So with just a touch of imagination I can think of a many ways both sets of radiers could get weapons of all kinds.

As for the actual op question At first I thought nv fiends easy, but the more I thought about it the shear numbers of cw radiers are staggering. They are everywhere in cw. All around the dupont areas they own that city and under it by Fort Idependence, so if you just dropped them all out of the sky I d say cw wins. As someone else pointed out the cw raiders were way better at tacticai defensive positioning. So either way its cw raiders.

Love these popularity contest threads. It's always FO3 fans vs. NV fans.

Back to the topic:

NV fiends have their fortifications, they are just made out of something else than sandbags and pile of plywood. Violet has herself for made out of campers, and the fiends use the old ruins efficiently. Also it's kinda funny how most of the cw raiders aren't even raiders, but campers with their fortifications. And why on earth would a raider need a fortification if his supposed to be raiding.

I'd put my money on NV raiders, they aren't bickering gangs of suicidal maniacs as the CW raiders are. Whose to say that the CW raiders are even in the same group and wouldn't be on on each others throats when the fighting would start.

Well really, those Fiends you mentioned are based out of those fortifications around Vault 3 and raid out of them. They talk numerous times in the game about them having to fight off Raids at the airport and caravans nearby.
