This might be a dumb question

well i got the construction set and got working on the tutorial provided but when i go back into the game nothing is changed. the game is exactly the same. i go to data files at the open screen and make sure my data file is selected but still nothing. what could be going on? i know that when i got into the folders to try to find the .esm file it never shows up. but it does show up on the data files part with the game and and the cs. any ideas? am i just missing a simple deal?

Perhaps you can provide information on 'what' you changed, 'where' you put the changes (what worldspace) and 'why' you think nothing has changed.
Also provide what version your game is patched to and what version of CS you are using.

game version 6.1.
cs version 1.2.404
i changed the basemant door in the oak and crosier to unlocked and the chest in the far corner of the basemant to unlocked. but the door is still locked. also i tried to put a chest in the ic market place and it never showed up. but the data files were added and checked.

Ignore those errors. You should only be mildly concerned when you get errors when you are 'saving' your mod. And even some of them mean nothing.

The changes you made will never work if you already visited the Oak and Crosier. The state of the door is saved in your 'save game' file. That will overwrite your mod changes.
This is what is called a 'dirty save game'.

ok but i had not visited it yet. i had just started a new game. and then i tested it with the castle. i put a chest near the door but it was not there in the game. i had the data file checked and everything.

The merchant may be locking the door. Or you could have placed it somewhere else. You might need to upload your mod somewhere so we can take a look at it.
Or, we could spend a week going back and forth with 'possible' problems and solutions. ;)

If you have Vista or Windows7, AND you installed your game in the default directory, then you will never see the mod in the data folder.

The CS is NOT part of the game so the OS sees it as a virus or trojan program trying to change Oblivion game files. This is not allowed by the OS.

Solution? Pick "one" of these:

1. Install your game to your Root C: drive. Like C:\Games\Oblivion\ or another drive entirely if you have one.
2. Remove the security from your OS and then you can join the XP computer ranks and become a Zombie computer. [not recommended]
3. In your \Oblivion\Data\ folder, look at the top right. There should be a button called 'Compatibility Files'. Click that to find your mod. You can then copy it from there to your Data folder.
4. Run the CS in Administrator mode. Right-click on the icon and select, Run as Administrator.
