Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:53 am

I've been having some graphical issues with morrowind. I have GOTY eddition but only morrowind is installed beacuse the expansions don't work(more on that later). I've been having bug since I got the game such as doors dissapearing and then reappearing when I look at them a different way. This happens with characters armour too. Water will change the size of the bodie of mater and sometime the texture... I've tried re-installing the game but with no luck. Also, tribunal and bloodmoon for some reason don't work but I'll make another thread for that later.... Plz help!

Do the doors that lead you into another room disappear? Or the doors that lead you into another cell? It sounds like a mesh problem to me

Does everyone's hair and clothes flicker too?
Sounds like you just have a crappy video card.

About Tribunal and Bloodmoon... what OS are using? Vista or Windows7, I am guessing.

One thing that can make the graphics flicker is "z-fighting", which happens in Morrowind with some graphics cards/drivers. If you have an older nVidia driver, try updating it, because some of those cards were affected for a while, but recent drivers fixed it. Some other graphics cards may also have this problem, like cheap Intel stuff.

If you have a card that is affected, one of the characteristics of Morrowind's z-fighting problem is that it only happens outside. Indoor cells are not affected.

Well, so far you haven't told us anything about why Tribunal and Bloodmoon won't work, or even what you mean by "won't work" but I can take a good guess that you're having the common problems that Vista creates.
Check the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/ for some solutions to all the common problems.
You'll probably want to change Install Location, and make sure you're running the game as Admin. (which is different than just being logged-in as Admin)

Many laptops (including those that use Vista or W7) have integrated cards that just aren't that great for Morrowind. Some even create graphical bugs like the ones described here.

Most likely you have an Intel integrated chipset. AFAIK there are no solutions to graphics defects caused by Intel chipsets.

I figured out the bloodmoon/tribunal problem and it only happens outdoors so It's not too bad

But the expansions are all about the outside environment!
