I was just wondering if Skyrim sorted saves in folders named after your characters. Like in Biowares games, when every time you create a new character a new folder is created for it which makes it impossible to overwrite a wholly different character. In previous Elder Scrolls your characters were just bunched together.
I've overwritten countless characters in Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas and it would be so much better and easier for the player if Bethesda could follow Biowares approach to sorting your saves.
There have been quite a few threads about this before and it's pretty much always 100% for having "folders" as you put it. We, like you. Have overwritten a few too many characters ourselves.
I'm all for it, but as of right now we have no official word on it.
That is one thing that angered me about Oblivion...the saving of games was kind of difficult to remember whose game was whose if you had more than one person save on it.

Exactly. Not only was the risk of overwriting a character constantly present, it was also a pain to look at that endless list of saves and characters.
If I remember correctly, Oblivion lets you see the name of the character when you select a save. If you're on the PC you don't have to worry about limited amounts of save slots and such nonsense; thus, I've never overwritten a character. Still, sorting by folders-per-character would be quite practical.
I think the best way would be to have a character selection screen when you log in, once you pick the character he will have his own save files and autosaves.
I had to start a lvl 30 something character over because my cousin saved his level one over it on accident.
Anything to improve save management would be welcomed
But I wouldn't want the developers to deflect time from more important things - like developing awesome quests, balancing the game and making everything stable. If they have time at the end to make a decent save system, then great - otherwise I can live with it
