Getting back into MW again

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:59 am

Apologies if threads like these pop up frequently; I tried looking a few pages back but didn't see a "recommended mods" thread! Based on the screenshots thread, it seems MW has improved a thousand times over since I got into it! I still have all the discs to the expansions and the originals, and was wondering if it was worth my time to start modding MW? My OB is heavily modded but a little unstable (CTDs every 1-2 hours)...

If I may ask, have there been any improvements on gameplay, aside from graphics? A link to a thread of website with information would be fine, too. Thanks in advance!

I have a recommendation of a different sort. Get all of the modding out of the way up front. Do your research, find what looks cool, get everything working right, and then start playing the game and commit to it. Maybe this is just a personal thing, but nothing kills these games for me more than exiting out every 20-30 minutes to tinker with my mod settings. And then eventually I break something and can't get it fixed and I wind up just deleting the whole mess. Oy.

I know how that is... haha. Thanks for all the lists everyone! I've been modding MW ever since I first played but stopped after Bloodmoon (oddly enough, I bought it and never installed it or tried it). It can't be too much worse than Oblivion modding, can it? ><

It's certainly better for the people using mods. You won't have to download 4 billion patches just to make everything work together.
