Why do you support the Security?

So, pretty simple concept. This forum is starting to turn a little too red for my tastes, and I think my brothers in blue need to do something to stem the tide. Otherwise we're all going be be eating sawdust soup and standing in mile-long lines for toilet paper.

So anyway, here's the rake. If you're a Resistance supporter, here's what I'm granting you: The Founders should be doing more to try to contact the outside world, or if they are actually doing something, at least make a show of it and keep everyone in the know- especially since they aren't letting them leave. If that's your main reason for supporting the Resistance, wonderful. You win, scoot along.

However, for this exercise, I'm taking that off the table for a minute. Let's look at the rest of the Resistance's gripes:

Not getting enough food.... Note: nowhere is there anything said of people dying of starvation, just that they aren't getting as much as they want.

Founders/Security get more water.... Again, not that they are dying of thirst, just that someone is getting more.

Have to do dangerous work.... I suppose that is what it is. Your job is your job though. Whattya gonna do?

Don't like the second-rate living conditions......Could be worse, right? I'd rather have 2nd rate living conditions than first rate death conditions

You know what I give to this? A big fat BOO-HOO. Here's the deal. When the entire world floods, and you don't have anywhere to go, and you come upon a haven that happens to be already occupied, you don't get to pick and choose what you're given. You're lucky they occupants didn't point a hand cannon at you and send you on your way. If you're looking for a place to escape almost certain death, then you take what you're given and be thankful for it. They don't owe you a red cent. Yeah, sorry, you don't get full rations all the time. You are an unexpected guest. Oh, and you also don't get to live in the same prepared, comfortable living quarters as the people that are already occupying those quarters. You get to make your own space. Be happy with it or pipe down.

Moving on to the work issue.. if you're going to be bunking at what is essentially my fallout shelter, I'm going to make you worth my while if you're going to be leaching off of my resources. I'm sure it looks like I have SOOOOO much and that you think you deserve to take it easy since you're already getting the short end of the stick, but that just isn't the case. I planned just enough for me and my kin. Not for 45000 extra guests. So if you want to eat my stored food, you'll be earning it, pretty simple.

Property is a principle of life. Man cannot live a life fit for a human without property. Therefore, it behooves us to recognize property rights, not matter the situation. Were our principles to be in a constant state of flux, dependent on the situation, then they wouldn't really by principles at all, now would they?

Also keep in mind that no matter what anyone tells you otherwise, there is no such thing as a positive obligation to other humans. Any argument to the contrary is based purely on emotion and personal altruism..nothing objective or based in a "state-of-nature" reality.

With this knowledge in hand, I say I, you, we, step up to defend an ancient right that is in danger of usurpation by a bunch of ungrateful malcontents. Let us protect what is rightfully ours, yet we were kind enough to share, and are now being attacked over. Let us show these people that if the human race is going to press on, that it will do so with a respect to the right of property, and any violence used to dismiss this right will be met with martial punishment. You and I are all that stands between order and anarchy, my friends, and an inevitable slow communist death for all of us. We are the righteous, the respecters or human rights, the thin blue line between peace and death... We.. ARE.. SECURITY!

I wish H0RSE wasn't banned from this forum anymore he would probably set things straight with a long debate and then everyone would shut up about this stuff, or at least we would barely see it.

Did you whine about it in the Resistance thread, too? Also, no one has a gun to your head forcing you to read anything.
