Weapons, Armor, and Items

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 7:00 am

Dear dev team,

Let me preface by saying I have been a long-time fan of Elderscrolls. I love Elderscrolls. But, the one thing that has always dug at me a little was the short-list of weapons and armor. You start with iron, then go to steel, then silver, and so on... with a smattering of a few magic weapons and armor here and there.

Will we see more diversity in weapons and armor in V? For instance different quality items? More items with distinct properties? Unique items that are difficult/impossible to collect? I am a bit of a loot-[censored], so if the dev team added more "items" to all the fantastic changes they have planned in V, I may never return to reality...

Thanks a bunch

Sounds interesting to me. I'm somewhat of the mind that it should go the other way; reduce the need for upgrades of equipment, and make unique items more of a horizontal upgrade rather than a vertical.

But I'm very much -not- a loot-[censored], and I'm definitely in the minority.

I guess I should say that I am not looking for Diablo-style "Godly Heavy Iron Bane Hammer of the Homely Snake Pelvis" sort of thing, but on the level of Fallout: NV with upgrades and a fairly wide variety of styles of items. That would be fine with me.
