fcom/UOP/200 hour bug?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:56 am

I am currently running an fcom game, but do not have any of the unofficial patches installed. I am curious where to start when downloading/installing them. I've googled it, but I get lots of patch links, and then links to patches FOR the patches, so it's a bit confusing for a first timer. Also, will the UOPs prevent the 200 hour Oblivion bug? I really want to put a lot of time into my current fcom character, but don't want to feel pressured to accomplish everything in under 200 hours to prevent the animation bug Oblivion supposedly has. Thanks in advance!

No, but that is simply a matter of clicking on the save and using Wrye Bash's "Repair Abomb" feature, so you do not need to worry about that.

http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/stabilization/unofficial-official-patches <-- If you are using OBMM, download the OMOD versions. These should actually be installed before installing FCOM, so when you activate them, choose "no" when prompted to overwrite. If you hold down Shift when you click no, it will not overwrite anything. If Shift does not work, try Alt. Please let me know if you figure out which one is correct.

I'll let Tomlong handle the rest, but the A-Bomb Bug can be handled by Wrye Bash (and other utilities), so it's not gamebreaking for PC players. UOP doesn't address it, though.

EDIT: Oh, she handled that as well. Might as well watch some TV. :)

The UOP will not prevent the animation bug, but Wrye Bash has a one click fix for the problem. As you're using FCOM you must have Wrye Bash, so don't worry about it.

Too slow... too slow.

Should remove A-Bomb be used prior to 200 hours or only after seeing the issue?

I would not use it until after seeing the issue, but there is a whole thread about the animation stickiness problem.

Tomlong, if you're still wondering, it's always been Shift :)

I have been wondering, and now I can add the tip to the OBMM page. Thanks.

Actually, it's control (ctrl) - search http://www.oblivionmodwiki.com/index.php/Oblivion_Mod_Manager for "yes to all".

It might be shift too, but I never used that.

Cheers!

Okay, can one of the hundreds of OBMM users (with access to a computer with Oblivion on it, unlike me) please check out this ctrl or shift or whatever button thingy?

All right, anyone else have any other buttons they want to suggest before I update the docs...?
