If you're playing on vanilla then the mundane ring is indispensable.
The ring of perfection is pretty awesome too.

Here's Buffy's basic loadout:

Self enchanted bow because it's lethal.
Quiver full of the best arrows she can find for her level to feed the bow.
Azura's Star to feed the bow.
Some good homebrewed poisons to feed the bow.
Either the Arena Raiment because it's pretty, or some practical clothes because they're comfortable.
A pair of detect life rings to avoid surprises.
A nice collection of spells, mostly illusion custom ones - if you can disappear or control your foe's mind, things go much safer.
Some nice dresses with matching shoes and jewelry for in town - a girl's gotta have what a girl's gotta have.

Um, yep, that's about it.

Copied from another thread on a similar subject. It's pretty much my character's default outfit.

Black Hood - 25% frost sheild
Dark Shirt - 25% shock sheild
Blacksmith Pants - 25% frost sheild
Stiched Leather Shoes - 25% shock sheild
Mundane Ring
Ebony Diamond Ring - +50 Magicka
Arnora's True Amulet - +50 Magicka
Wrist Irons - +50 Magicka
Light Iron Sheild - +50 Magicka

Apotheosis (with supporting spell to crank up the damage by 4x, or 16x with a double cast)
Two-Handed weapon (enchanted Dai-Katana normaly)
Perfect Amber bow (enchanted)
25-50 Perfect Amber Arrows (enchanted if possible)

Something else I've been field testing in the isles that have been working better than expected.

Full Perfect Madness armor set enchanded with trancendent sigil stones. 3x +15 Spell Absorption, 2x +50 Magicka and 1x 125 pt feather.
Amulet of Absorption
Sorcerer's Ring
Circlet of Verdure (level 25+ version)

Perfect Madness Longsword self enchanted as follows. (20x uses)
-Absorb Magicka 10 pts for one second
-Fire Damage 10 pts for one second
-Shock Damage 10 pts for one second
-Frost Damage 7 pts for one second
-Weakness to fire 100% for one second
-Weakness to shock 100% for one second
-Weakness to frost 100% for one second
-Weakness to magic 100% for two seconds
-Soul trap for one second

Perfect Madness Bow self enchanted as follows (20x uses) with up to 50x matching arrows.
-Drain Health 100 pts for one second
-Command Creature up to level 25 for one second
-Command Humanoid up to level 25 for one second

Both outfits yeild unstopable and unkillable gods. Really in order to die at default difficulty setting, at any level, you must go AFK midfight.

See my sig, full armor set enchanted with a total of Resist Magic 75% (although it has not a very special AR), and blade enchanted with Absorb Health 22 pts (added to the 129 base damage, it does a bunch of pain).

Amulet: Feather 75 + Frost Damage 10, and I still have to decide which two rings would I wear...surely two Fire/Frost/Lightning Shield self-enchanted ones (as I haven't begun the MQ, and I don't plan to do it soon...or never).

Maybe not very impressive, but he's an amazingly balanced character, even at lvl 49. I must use magic & combat strategically in order to survive, and that's lots of fun.

P.D: BTW, my char's HP is also capped at 100 pts.

Currently the following:

Shortsword with a name I can't spell: Frost Damage 20pts, Weakness to Frost 50% for 2 secs.
Elmwood Bow - 15 Pts of Shock Damage
Elven Arrows

Shield of Vengeance - 12% Reflect Damage
Shrouded Hood - All those Stealth Skills +2
Night Elf Cuirass - +10Str
Night Elf Greaves - 100pts Feather
Boots of Bloody Bounding
Night Elf Gauntlets - 50pts Feather

Cruelty's Heart
Amulet of Reflection - 12% Reflect Damage

4 trash rings which I switch out pretty regularly.

Only lvl20 atm, and so I expect to be changing this gear pretty quickly.
