Torches and Decor

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:01 am

Hi, I've recently purchased Benirus Manor and the basemant is looking a little bit  I have heard of a glitch that allows a lit torch to be dropped on the ground, does anyone know how?

Any decoration suggestions for the basemant are welcome, my char is a high elf alchemist/scholar with an interest in the ayleids.

I am playing on Xbox 360 and have the GOTY installed.

Thanks in advance. ^_^

I have xbox GOTY and I'm pretty sure you can just drop a torch. I use light spells, so I'm unfamiliar really with the torches. The basemant is very gloomy, but I just use that as my main supply house, so I keep copies of whatever item is in the specific box in front of it. The floor is very cluttered, but looks better than spiderwebs!

To make a torch on fire when dropped, just drop torches on the ground or wherever you want them, exit the building and fast travel to a place. Wait 3 days and then go back to your house, the torches should now be on fire.

However, they do not give off light like torches do when equipped, so all they will be will just be a fire not giving off any light, they do add a nice touch though as they make the sound of a nice crackling fire.

You don't even have to wait three days. I did it differently with Acadian's help: Leave the cell after dropping how many torches you want lit. Go somewhere else far far away. Save my game. Go to main menu. Reload that save, go back and there they are. Suburban is right, it's a nice crackling sound. Sometimes you will go back into the basemant, and the torches will appear to have gone out, but leave the room (loading door) and come back inside, and they are lit again.

Don't forget that the torches of course have to lit (in your hand) when you drop them. They will go out when you drop them of course, but if you leave/reload etc, they will be lit when you come back. I make fireplaces in the little wall alcoves of the Thieves Guildmaster quarters. :P
