CS crashes when editing faces : IV

Hi,
Whenever I try to edit the face of an NPC (generate button, applying slider changes) the CS crashes. Also, it doesn't show the preview nor the age/hair length sliders. Why is this and how can I repair it?

additional info:
Windows 7 64bit
CS v1.2something
