Is he important at all? I know he was in Morrowind and authored two books but I read Redguard Forum Madness and he was being role-played by a dev.

To answer you question, hell to the yes.

Think he was http://www.imperial-library.info/characters/trial_vivec.shtml. On http://www.imperial-library.info/dwemer/guide.shtml, he's got a few excerpts there.

His second most well-known appearance was the http://www.imperial-library.info/characters/trial_vivec.shtml.

Ahh, dang. Beat me.

Didn't know he was in the Trial. Is he only important in a scholarly way, as in he has studied the Dwemer and is the leading scholar on them?

He's also in http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/vehk_teaching.shtml. So yeah, he's pretty important.

He's the alter-ego of Kurt Kuhlmann, who champions the logical explanation for legendary stories both in game and out. See The Dragon Break Reexamined for a good example (I don't know if he wrote it).

Oh and he posted out of of character a time or two, telling us that Mankar wasn't wearing the amulet by mistake and Sheogorad is a possibly younger volcanic island.

Ahh, okay. One other question...or two. Hlaalu Brevur, who is he? Is he, like, the founder of House Hlaalu? I found the name in the Skeleton Man Interviews "(May We Seek Forever the Seyda Neen)" is said right after it. Why?

That is the only mention of him anywhere so really all we can do is assume that he was a very prominent Hlaalu, beyond that is pure speculation. As for the comment afterwards, I find that interesting as well and never really noticed it. That said, I have no idea what it means, since it obviously refers to something other than the town... curious...

'New arrival' just a guess.

New arrival as in his incarnate and the meaning of the name of the town.

Renewed arrival. Might even be more appropriate.
