How to make your game intresting

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:40 pm

I recently started a new character who is Mage . I installed OOO ,MMM and Francesco's mod and used my recently installed Wyre bash to get the game stable(this part is important) . I wanted to be really afraid of going into the wilds and wondering out of the four walls of the city. I wanted to feel safe in the city and started wondering why i did not feel any difference about that even after installing these three mods. then it actually struck me, the Auto save and Quick save. I decided to start playing the game without Auto save and quick save. MY saves will only be while entering a city,Making a trade and sleeping in a Inn and exiting a city. I decided NOT to do any saves when i step into the wilds of Cyrodil. This is when the game gets really interesting. Once you start exploring the ruins, dungeons and wilds without a save the real feel of fear and adventure gets to you, Coz now you know you cannot afford to die. Especially after having a lot of loot. You just know you cannot afford to die.
When you do save your game and quick save every few minutes your not afraid to die and when your not afraid to die your not afraid of the creatures in the wilds.

Seriously try encountering a minotaur when you are lvl4 using MMM and OOO and you have enough loot to get you couple 100 silver. Its the feeling you have at that point which is interesting as well as awesome. The part where you actually run away for your dear life and your begging to see an Imperial guard patrol near by just so that you can save your dear life sell the loot you have and not die and loose all of them.. I figured out of you wanna role play you gotta be afraid of death and since this is a game this is a nice way to replace your fear of death with fear of loosing your loot.

Its exactly at that point in time you realize how useful these Inn's are which are scatted Across Cyrodil . though i warn you dying when your playing such a game can be a disappointment .

Thats why its entirely necessary that your game should be stable and not have any CTD's

You could play dead is dead and only save upon exiting the game.

But I play like you. Out of laziness, and I agree it does makes things more intense.

Let me just quote the manual for Doom 3; save and save often

Boy, if I hadn′t lived by that rule.. :shakehead:

Despite having an stable instalation, there is allways the risk of a CTD. You could save often but only load saves outside of cities in case of crash.

I tend to manage alright, to be honest. Helena hasn't died yet, mainly because she's very cautious, but y'know.

I dunno, I get the feeling Oblivion is actually pretty easy. Well, it's not a feeling. I've not touched the difficulty slider and yeah, we struggle sometimes which scares the bejesus out of me (I'd be one sad Count is Helena were to get killed) but Morrowind was SO much harder. At least up until ze uber levels.

Actually the reason I save a lot is the fear of computer failure. So many times have I been saved thanks to my frequent saving. Eh.. :lmao:

Ah! That makes sense. Also reminds me of the entire point of my previous post (which got lost when Helena popped into my head, demanding some fresh air tonight).

I play on xbox, so CTD isn't an issue :D
But glitches and bugs :sadvaultboy: ...gets me thinking, maybe I SHOULD save more.
