Summerset Isle

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:51 am

I was reading The Firsthold Revolt, and realized that I had completely forgot that Morgiah married into Aldmer royalty (this was during the events in TES II: Daggerfall, right?).

Seeing as Helseth is the head of Dunmer goverment and Morgiah Queen of Firsthold, what would you say would be the picture of Summerset Isle?s geopolitical future?

I mean, High elves under the rule of a Dark elf queen whose brother is the king of morrowind. And on top of it, they?re the sons of the very cunning, beutiful, terrible and cool Barenziah (#3 of my top 5)

Thanks in advance for replying and have a very nice morning (well, at least it?s morning in my home)

Bahrenziah cunning and terrible - but she's such a sweet harmless old lady :P

Heh - we had a chat about that some time ago - and it's part of a change in the balance between Mer and Man - as in what happens after the Emperor dies / what fills that vacuum?

You've noted that the current Chancellor is Occato of First Hold? And someone suggested that he was in fact an Ayelied ... due to his odd skin colour.

After Battlespire it appears that there are no more Imperial Dragons to be seen so that's another Imperial weakener ... but I always felt that the Altmer could have challenged for Imperial dominance at any time and yet they did not - after all they already have their repesentation on the Elder Council and with the Psyjiics so it may be that they feel scrabbling after power is beneath them.

The one they will all be watching is Helseth - and there is the matter of his half-sister who beat him out of the Breton Throne - assuming she still lives.

You might wonder if Morgiah entirely approves of or trusts her brother? And she is consort to the King rather than Queen in her own right - so maybe look to the next generation if the snooty Altmer deign to accept her offspring?

But it appears that a new Kalpa is coming - and if TESV is about the Nords there may be something there that is about to emerge to change the pattern of things

I read that thread last week... I?m not sure about him beeing an Ayleid, although he must have a personal agenda now that he?s at the top of the food chain. You don?t get to where he is just playing by rules, specially in TES universe.

I can?t refute that teory about Ocato being an Ayleid, but in doesn?t feel right to me, i don?t know. On the other hand if the Ayleids were to try and take over again it would be through conspiracy and not a violent revolution, so Ocato?s aylied roots might fit.

But I?d love it if some new power were to rise in the 4th era, instead of the old ones coming back. Maybe dissolving the empire entirely and it?s every man (province) for himself? i?ve never been a fan of the Empire and the way they portray themselves as "the good guys" (yeah yeah, I know beetter than to use the terms good or evil in TES, thats why I love this universe, but i couldnt find a better way to say it).

I know Dunmer are pretty shady and don?t trust anybody, but why exactly wouldn?t she trust or dissaprove of Helseth?

And I think at the end of The Firsthold Revolt, Reman decided not to accept anymore concubines into his court. Does that make Morgiah his only consort, and therefore queen? Unless Gialene and her were not the only two consorts in the first place

TES V about the Nords? Oh i?m gonna hate that! I was hoping for Black Marsh or Summerset... Well, with Uriel gone and no succesor, maybe going to Skyrim is the best choice... As long as they dont make it into a MMORPG

The don't trust him because he isn't trustworthy.

...plus the regicide and blasphemous multiculturalism...

And he always eats all of the damned potato chips at parties.

After poisoning the host for not inviting him, of course.
