What do you generally opt for?

I normally RP good, but as long as I RP it well, playing evil can be very interesting and fun. I don't like going around, massacring entire towns for no reason. For instance, on my good character I helped the people of Big Town, from rescuing the captives at Germantown to propelling the Mutie attacks. It being a Wasteland I naturally asked for a reward, and got what I think was some stimpacks, and the feeling that I helped a desperate settlement.

In my evil character, I went to Germantown and enslaved one of the captives. I then brought Red back to Big Town, enslaved her, and enslaved one more. Then I left the people to their fates, returning to find them all dead. I looted the bodies and buildings for anything useful, and continued on my way.

When I create a character, I never explicitly state whether he/she shall be good or evil or anything in between. Rather, I give them a personality which will affect their actions and shape their beliefs as they wander the wastes.

For instance, considering the nature of my latest character and the situation he's in, his karma has sunk to 'Very Evil'. Read the 'hardcoe' thread to catch up on some of his recent endeavours.

Arguably, the personality of the character itself could have clear good/evil connotations attached, but I still believe it's more flexible than simply deciding the character's morale alignment right off the bat, and then desperately trying to uphold it throughout the game.

EDIT: That said, I voted 'Evil'. Like I said, it's not necessarily what my characters strive for, though a fair few have taken that route. Perhaps it's a reflection of me? I find playing as a saint boring, for the most part, so instinctively instil certain undesirable traits within my characters.

However, as it happens, my first two characters both ended with 'Very Good' karma.

Neutral for me. When I first played the game I followed a good/very good path. The game makes it easy to play this way, with numerous rewards for doing so. Lately, again, check the Fallout 'hardcoe' thread for recent adventures, I find that my good actions are evened out by numerous evil deeds, mainly carried out due to necessity. So I prefer neutral, its offers the greatest flexibility to seek the best out of every situation.

I run a slaver mod called FNNCQ, so I always end up evil.

Yeah, I never decide whether a character will be good or evil. It is fairly obvious the way it will turn out depending on the characteristics of the characters I create, though.

I voted good, but I'm still on my actual first play-through. I've found that just by completing quests to get th XP has caused my karma to sky-rocket to max very good. I managed to whittle it down by stealing some stuff, but, without trying, I'm always getting good karma. I considered taking the canabal perk just to be able to stay neutral, but as I'm level 17, have Fawlkes in tow and am seriously tooled up now, I'm pretty invincible. The only advantage of staying neutral means no talon mercs or regulators showing up.

Characters decide for me. They tend to end up neutral, but I was surprised the other day when I found out that I was good, and very good to boot. I don't know how that happened.... I don't look at the karma these days. Though in the early months of owning the game I certainly tried all three karma paths.

I'm only 6 hours into my first play through and everytime I steal something I feel bad and make sure it's still on neutral.

My characters have cleptomania at pathological levels. So, they eventually hit "very evil" at certain points; I try to do the stealing in excessively drawn out stealing sessions as soon as I have the gear and stealth for it.

After that, I just let the game and karma run its own course, and end up good or very good really fast, because I wouldn't do slaving or murdering, heck, I wouldn't even make poor Timmy cry most of the time (splitting that happily married couple up can be quite fun though, with the right selection of options.)

I'm a slaver, a serial killer, a homewrecker, a backstabber, a thief, a pyromaniac, a junkie, and Mr. Burke's best gal.

And we love you that way!

No matter what I almost always end up neutral. Players complain it's so hard to stay neutral but I can't seem to get away from it. Mostly it's because I ignore karma completely and just play how I want to and that's what happens. Some quests I do good and some  so it all balances out.

I am normally Very Good. Normally I just try to model my characters as myself, and I make moral decisions based on what I would do. Its nice being a Wasteland savior. I'm sure if everybody played as I did everybody would be pretty much Good, maybe even neutral if there an [censored]. Doubt we would see many pure Evils, because in our age most people like that are locked up or out breaking stuff...

Come to the dark side, llama. You'll never turn back. Join the serial killers, take Dave to be your own personal [censored] boy, shoot Dad with a thorazine dart gun as he runs up on a pack of a dozen Raiders and hide as they stomp the stuffing out of him over and over. It's good to be bad ;)

I already hit and shoot James just to hear him scold my character. It's some of the most fun I have in the game. :lmao:

Oh, and Three Dog. He never makes it through a game alive either. But you can blame Charon for that. It's never my fault. :whistling:

Good.

I usually stick to choices I'd probably make which is generally good. There's a few things I might make a bad choice on :whistling: .

Good, is the only way to go for me, can't do allot of good in this world, so I do it in game. But, sometime I like to go bad.
