Mages Guild Quest

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 8:51 am

I am at the ruins. There is one house with one guy who only talks about mundane things. He might be the wizard? Or not. No dungeon that I can locate... I have extensively searched for ANYTHING. :brokencomputer:

Anybody else get this quest and beat it?

Thanks.

Pretty sure. There are ruined buildings everywhere....... Is there more than one set of ruins?

look for a mound and go into it, otherwise the door might be on like a castle type thing

I'd check out the dungeon spelling twice first to be sure you are at the right place.

Those doors are usually in small mounds like Hellclan said... but sometimes they are very small and look like trap doors. Yes it svcks.

A location called Ruins of whatever is going to be classed as a dungeon location, so there won't be any NPCs hanging out in a house at the location.

You are probably at "Old Gwynyrrya's Place" or Manor or Farm. You are looking for Old Gwynyrrya Ruins or whatever the real name is. DF's name generator makes some surprisingly similar names for location. The easiest way to find a dungeon sometimes is to use the filters to blank out all locations that are not dungeons and then looking at each one until you find it.

1) Make sure your at the correct place. It isn't hard to mix up the names sometimes.

2) The quests and dungeons are randomly generated (Except the MQ in some parts) so don't ask if anyone has done the quest but instead ask why you could be in the wrong location or something like that

3) On the fast travel map turn off everything that isn't a dungeon and then start to search for the dungeon like that.

Thanks everyone. I'll check the spelling. I suspect that this might be my problem..............

EDIT: Ok. Turns out there is both a "Old Gwynyrrya's Place" and a "Ruins of Old Gwynyrrya's Place". One is in the NW part pf DF and the other is in the SE quadrant. :banghead:

Clearly ol' Gwynyrrya abandoned her place when it became infested with monsters, and moved across the kingdom.
There's a story here and we never suspected it! :D
