norepairneededv2 crashes game

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:10 pm

Please help. The only mod I have is norepairneededv2 - I just cant stand the unrealistic weapons degrading thing.

I am playing Fallout3 GOTY edition. I have played theough the main mission before and just reinstalled after buying this GOTY edition. On a DLC and on a regular game mission I crash at the main objective door. I can pass the door if i disable the mod, but then i am without any weapons, and just have the default suit that you start the game with. ( as well as lose the quest info in my pip boy.)

I would be willing to start the game over if need be with another no repair mod that does not crash the game - if that is my only option.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Edit: perhaps I should ask, does anyone use a No Repair mod that does not cause any problems?

Wow. Some modding forum. 50 views and not 1 person has a suggestion.

You can try this:

or this:

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=70

I prefer slower degradation because not having to repair at all is a bit unrealistic.

(I use -80% which means the weapon/armor degrades 80% slower than vanilla)

Also, I would recommend one more mod (absolutely essential, imo). That is: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1085562-wipzbeta-darnified-ui-f3/page__hl__darn.

Seriously. You won't regret it.

Thank you for the answer. I will test them out.

I am amazed at all the cool mods they have here. I may try more out but it seems like most of them are not just esm's you can actigvate in data files, but complicated mods you need other tools to make work. I don't know if I am ready to dive into all that yet.

Most mods that look to require another "tool" are just .esms that require another .esm be it for meshes or other resources, both can be activated in data files.

I will second the slower degradation, though I use 95%.
Weapons just dont wear out anywhere near as fast as the game makes out. I have a Mauser Kar-98k that was rebarrelled sometime in the late 60's and has had I don't know how many tens of thousands of rounds through it. It still holds a decent group and has an action as smooth as silk.
Still, they can get bumped around, so a bit or wear and tear isn't unrealistic.
I wouldnt go over 95 though.
