TES4Gecko: can't create virtual machine

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 8:53 am

For some reason, TES4Gecko has stopped working, when it was working well just a couple of weeks ago. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed, and I've checked my version of Sun Java: 1.6.

But when I try to run it, I get: "Could not create the virtual Java machine."

Here's the shortcut I'm using:

Target: C:\WINDOWS\system32\javaw.exe -Xmx1200m -jar ""

Start in: I've tried the location for Java, and the directory of TES4Gecko.

Nothing works. Any ideas?

Try testing Java first ....http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp next to the version you would use. That will rule out an install gone wrong. Java Likes to update all the time.

Java does not appear to be working. Guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Wonderful. It appears Firefox no longer supports the Java console.

EDIT: Installed it separately--and it's not coming up in IE8, which supports Java, either. I've reinstalled it three times now, rebooted, and still nothing.
