Need help setting up a custom sledge hammer shcok effect.

Hey everyone. I am trying to make it so that every time you swing this sledge hammer I have, when you hit something (anything at all including walls, objects, or people) it makes the large pulse grenade explosion. Its like a 'shock hammer' kinda thing. The only problem is that I have never done anything like this in the geck, as most of my experience is in level design and scripting. Not really making custom items. Can anyone direct as to what effects to make, where to make them, and what to do? I'm pretty much clueless. I have been poking around all the effects windows and I'm not sure where to start, or if its possible. About the explosion, it doesnt have to hurt anyone, but if it does, I dont want it to hurt the player. Everyone but the player actually. So if thats possible that would be great. Thanks for any help. :)

Create a base effect and in the script use placeatme pulsegrenadefx or whatever it is then attach it to an object effect then attach that to the weapon and I think that should be it. You might want to make a custom pulsegrenadefx off of it and use that and then you can create another object effect to modify it's (pulsegrenadefx) damage and whatnot and maybe get it to not hurt the player/user, unsure about that thought.
