What will you do in the CK First?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:25 pm

I know it is a long time off, and whats more we know little about the features of the CK and even lack much actual game info. However, I have been thinking nonstop about what I am going to do when I get my hands on the CK's creation-y goodness.

First things first I intend to get to know the CK and it's features, maybe write a few pages on the CK wiki that will be up within days of the game being released. Tutorials and whatnot. After that I'm going to use it's fancy and manage-able UI to read all the books in the game (If I feel like it I will probably upload that stuff to the UESP because that's just who I am). I will then look and see what books are missing and start my first mod:

Connected Skyrim
If there aren't roads to other provinces I add those, as well as NPCs that travel to and from other provinces.
Go to any city with a port and add some more sailors and traders, different boats, and make so only some of them would be available at certain times, giving the illusion that they leave and head to other provinces or possibly other port cities in Skyrim.
A library in whatever the capitol is featuring EVERY book from all the ES games. Also going to add some to other houses, stores, caves, etc.
Anything else I can think of until then.

What about you guys?

Not touch it until I beat the game and factions.

I spoiled Morrowind's MQ for me by poking around in the TESCS. Not going to touch this until I'm done playing the game.

Get rid of the horrible dungeon leveling system. Add more NPC's to the cities to make it seem more urban. Re-texture some of the armor and weapons to suit my characters.

Yeah I've never been one of those people who will feel like a story is absolutely ruined if I know what happens. I don't remember what movie I went to see but someone who had seen it already yelled out the ending right away. A ton of people got pissed off and left. I sat there and watched the movie. It's about the journey man, not the destination (Ew I sounded like a hippy  ).

I think it was Avatar and it turns out I had already seen it before anyways. Here is my basic synopsis (Yes in a spoiler tag for people unlike me):
Spoiler

A person from another world goes to a new land with his heavily European-styled brethren. They try to seem civil to the natives (with a different skin color who live as a tribe, worship the planet, and are relatively peaceful), but really they are basically a technologically advanced military complex attempting to seize control for their own greed. The main character lives with the natives and falls in love, then tries to find peace amongst the tribes and the foreigners. This fails miserably in the end and he chooses to side with the tribe, defeating his brethren and after nearly dying, lives with the tribe.

I saw that movie when I was 11. Except it starred Kevin Costner and they called it Dances with Wolves. Then I remembered seeing it when I was 5, under the guise of Disney's Pocahontas. :P

One thing I forgot to add to my original post is find out how shaders are used this time around so I can make a fully working MGS4 Octocamo Sneaking Suit.

Depends on how the game plays. I usually play through completely, making lots of notes, then make mods implementing the changes I want.

Probably a private mod to grant my larger-than-life hero(ine) of "uncertain parents" a few quasi-divine advantages (like minor resistance to normal weapons, attribute or skill boosts, or a healing power) for a long-term save file.

Beyond that, simple bugfixes and re-balances that the community doesn't beat me to, and then I'll look into quest mods and dungeons.

A leveling mod will be the first mod I install.

I'll probably plunk down several hundred trees in a separate worldspace until they are a suitable density and my screen lags up.

Just kidding, the game will murder my laptop in the main menu.

Total Conversion!
No, probably not right away. I will probably just mess around with the new program and see what I can come up with.

Load up Skyrim.esm, check out the book list and see what they retained and if there are many new titles, and especially if "The Lusty Argonian Maid" is still in the game.

Damn skippy. I'm writing the full "Real Barenziah" series if it is removed or censored again.
