LAME spell codes

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:40 pm

I really like LAME so far. One thing I don't care for is the spell codes at the front of the spell's name. I'm perusing the readme and checking out the various .esps For the life of me I can't figure out a way to disable the spell codes. Is there a way to turn them off?

Using Wyre Bash? Rebuild your patch, click the Tweak Names option, and choose the Spells [Fire Ball] option. Will rename your spells without the "labels". Also, you may wish to edit the Rational_Names.csv file in your bashed patch folder first, to remove the descriptive headers there as well if you use bash renaming for other things (I personally don't like the (en,ab,de, etc) labels on my equipment, potions, etc either.

Regards.

Great, thanks. Should I be checking any other items under Tweak Names? Does LAME rename potions or scrolls?

LAME only changes spell names. I edited Rational Names to change everything except spell names, though the billion + one "Strong Potions of Healing" don't get renamed. :glare:

What do I need to do to edit Rational_Names.csv? I only have Spells [Fireball] checked under Tweak Names in the Bashed Patch. Does that mean I'm good to go?

Forget about Import Names. What you've done is what you're supposed to do.

Have you unchecked under LAME in import names? In order to edit the rational names CSV, just edit the file with Excel (or an equivalent application.) I think it is in one of the Oblivion\Mopy\ folder, maybe "Data"...
