[REL] Secret Window, Secret Garden

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:58 pm

Secret Window, Secret Garden is a pluginless replacer for common window tileset that features the shiny bump maps. Doesn't require anything aside from Morrowind itself.

Info:
Replaces Common Diamond windows with bump mapped ones. V.1 contains
a pack with high res textures while V.2 pack has bump maps based on stock textures. Thus I highly recommend
using V.1, as working with low res textures also provides lower quality.

Installation:
Copy Data Files folder of which ever pack you wanna use, into Morrowind folder, and hit "yes" if it asks to
overwrite files. This replacer is pluginless so no need for activation, obviously.

Credits:
Chainy- for making the alternative window texture seamless for me, and for showing me how to add
bump maps in the 1st place.
Quarl - for reflection texture that I tweaked a bit (found in Kayla's Knick Knacks).

Usage:
Do whatever you want with the files.

note: the alternative texture has a different name, and will not replace the stock texture in case
you drop it in Textures folder. The reason I did this is because the common diamond window texture is much
different than the stock one and without some UV editing on the mesh it will not fit right.

Unfortunately I don't think so, heard they also change window meshes. I might take a look at the mod and maybe, just maybe, I make them compatible. But I don't guarantee anything.

I wish I could download it, but I still cant get anything from PES. Even though I already have an IGN Prime account, it still just takes me to the advertisemant page.

I think this works with Illuminated Windows. Wrye Mash shows no file conflict with any of my 300+ mods.
Also, I used the high-res textures but I used Ordenator to convert them to smaller DXT1c files.

I haven't had time to evaluate the mod but it looks good so far. Thanks Chaka!

Interesting, though I always find mods like this to stick out like a sore thumb and ruin the immersion for me. (It's a little TOO shiny...) However my taste definitely does not equal everyone else's, lol.

Blouge is correct...it won't conflict with Illuminated Windows

Windows Glow, however, changes the meshes and conflicts. This one is noticeably better than IW as well.
