How do you make a Redguard light-skinned?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:26 am

I don't especially prefer dark-skinned Redguards (no racism intended if seen as so) and want to make a light-skinned one. Tips? Thanks in advance.

There should be an option for skin tone if you scroll. However it′s been five years now since I made contact with my Dunmer, but I′m fairly sure

You're really gonna have to play with the sliders... but it's doable. It took me about an hour to make it so. I chose a face that I liked from the random selection, changed the hair first, as it seems easier for me that way anyway, then dramatically tweaked the face. I've made a petite, fair redguard with black hair and blue eyes, after my girlfriend at the time. She was the most powerful warrior I've ever fielded. No need to get super white, you need a little color, like blush in the face.

I went for a character a long time ago that looked like an American Indian with blue eyes. I started with a Redguard, worked with the skin tone, then the facial structure, then went with long gray windbraids. He looked great!

I find that the easiest way to get the skin tone I want is to just keep randomizing until I get the skin tone that I want. Face shape is much easier to adjust and control in facegen than skin tone is - adjusting skin tone has a whole lot of unintended consequences.

Gosh, that really struck me because I didn't say a word in my post about the biggest part - skin tone. Gpstr is exactly right. I kept hitting random until I got a tone close to what I wanted. I agree that the face structure is a lot easier to tweak.

It's certainly very possible to make a Redguard look White. The Skin Color and the one below it the Orange, Purple line is important. You'll want to get them light but not too light or they'll be cream color. The other facial features are a little tricky I don't think you'll want the oversized nose or lips so you'll have to adjust those as well. Definitely save before exiting the sewers so that you can make sure that the skin color is the perfect type of light or it won't look right at all.

I made a Nord who was brown skinned. I wanted to make him like an Aryan from North Indian so gave him green eyes, brown skin and black hair. Many Indians from the North of India can trace their heritage back to Saka / Scythians (as also populated parts of north & eastern Europe) hence the Nord choice. They are also often tall.

He looks cool

^ That's cool. I just made a new Redguard theif character, started off trying to see if I could make him look Cherokee, since I'm part cCherokee, but I didn't like the way the VAnilla ponytail looked. So I went the other direction: got his skin much darker instead. Gave him cornrows. Looks just like some of the thugs in my neighborhood now. :whistling:
