Getting a tattoo need help please.

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:30 am

Exactly! I'm personally planning on getting quite a few video game related tattoos. Why? Because certain video games and their characters have meaning to me.

Also, to weedlink: The Daedra aren't demons. They just did not participate in the creation of Nirn. :)

Edit* thought some of them could be considered "evil" I suppose...

i got some gaming tats already and i love them, the one i love the most is a tat of okami.

Do yourself a favor and wait, also dont get something as common and cliche as Japanese characters, dragons etc. You will regret it in the long run.

i have looked at the daedric language, i like it, but its the language of a demon race, i don't want that tattooed on me, i have PM the devs hopefully i hear something soon, if i don't i think i migt spell it famiiley.

If I recall, Azura was a Daedra and she wasn't evil. Just because we fight and kill a lot of them doesn't mean they're all evil or that it's an evil language..and blah this makes me want to play Morrowind again!

Seriously what kind of person would get a permanent tattoo of a GAME ?
Big No-No

Uh people that take games seriously. It's the same as taking movies seriously or books and I've seen a number of full back Star Wars and LOTR tattoos. So looks like you're behind on the times there.

He's not getting a tattoo of dragons, some of his family members and him are getting family tattooed on them in different languages, he wants the Dragon language from TES.

Also weedlink, I can recommend using the Latin version of family which is familia. Which you'd be able to do.

Yes I know and Im saying wait. You rarely ever end up liking your tattoos a decade or so down the road.

Yeah but by that logic he'll never like it, so what's the point of getting one in the first place

That's the point, If you cant find something you'll always like, then dont get one. You'll want some made up dragon language tattoo when your 60? perhaps he will, but its something you should consider.

It's really not my business, but this is something you really should think through. As others have stated, the tattoo is permanent. As in, it'll be there LONG after the TES series comes to a close. As good as Skyrim will almost certainly be, it will fade into obscurity eventually just like everything else, and in 30 years, do you really want to have something from a game nobody knows about anymore permanently inked on your body?

EDIT: word choice.

But does it matter if anyone else knows what it is? It's your body, if you understand it, that's all that matters.

Yeah, Daedra aren't necessarily evil, and their alphabet looks much cooler than the dragon one. Go with that.

I love how insanely worked up people are about this. Seriously, you're never going to see the guy, does it matter if you don't think you like his tattoo...? I can't understand how it is such a touchy subject.

Having read through the thread I have to say that some people are jumping on Weedlink's back hard due to the fact he said he wants it done in the Dragon language. He is having the word family done with his siblings and all of them are having it done in a different language.

What does it matter what language it is. made up or not it's weed's choice not yours. Tattoo's are personal so what does it matter to you how it's done.

Weedlink it's obvious you've thought about this so go for it. I'm not one for getting stuff from games as there isn't a design I like although the Assassin's symbol from AC is cool.

what if the game turns out to be really bad and depressing and every time you look at your tat it just reminds you of the painful memories of skyrim, or what about when your 80 and you have to tell your grand children that your tat is based on a failed video game... :cryvaultboy:

i believe in bethesda, i have been playing there games for 15 years and have never let me down, besides its not really about the game more about language and the respect i have for them for even trying to come up with some like that, if you read this http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/01/20/skyrim-s-dragon-shouts.aspx i think you would see how much work was put into coming up with it and making it make scene.

OP: I have not been paying attention to Skyrim or the dragon language but may I suggest finding if the people who created it are members here and sending a PM or sending GStaff a PM and see if he can pass it along, see if they can write it out for you?

That seems the best route to go considering no one hear knows the language really. Im sure Gstaff will atleast attempt to help hes pretty cool like that.

To all that are [censored]ing about his tattoo idea please gtfo. He didnt ask your opinion.

I was only offering constructive criticism, as have been most of the other people in this thread. Given that the OP has responded to a lot of this criticism quite politely, I don't understand the need for other posters to get so tetchy about it. On either side of the argument.
