there doesn't appear to be many Armour slots.

1 : Women have briasts, some are bigger than others, get over it.
2 : 2 slots added to 5 is an increase of 40% not 150%
3 : OB did not 'dumb down' MWs armour, MW over-complicated the original Dungeons and Dragons, grand daddy of all role playing games, which had 1 armour slot, including the shield.
4 : Obviously I'm being taken too seriously

1. Agreed.. kinda, I agree that women should have briasts in armor, but pants should be pants and skirts should be skirts.

2. Well... *shrug*

3. OB was less customization which is bad. Morrowind's system made it extremely enjoyable to match out our own outfit for your character, which is a huge part of a lot of RPG.

There was nothing overcomplicated about Morrowinds armor, trying to find the right armor wasn't difficult unless you wanted daedric.
And it allowed for customization, thats very important. You are also forgetting the left and right gauntlets / bracers. Thats + 3 not 2.

In Oblivion you couldn't mix and match armor well, it couldn't be done without looking like an idiot. In Morrowind it could be done well, and you would actually see people who looked unique and your characters could actually be unique. How exactly do the imperial gaurds distinguish between the Champion of Cyrodil and bandits anyway?
Some people want the added customization, its good for RPG's

I want as much customization as possible. I would love to have more armor slots. I would also like to see some awesome Armor perks (like heavy armor deflecting arrows). As far as the enchanting thing goes, I think it's totally a non issue. If you don't want to uber enchant your armor then you're totally allowed to not do so. But if I want to I should be able to. This is a single player game not a multiplayer so it's not gamebreaking if you never have to come across that sort of thing. Which, you don't if you don't use it yourself. I think some people forget that they are not the only people who will be playing this game. And if they aren't forgetting that, then they want to dictate how everyone else plays the game.

looking at stuff, i have the feeling this game will either run on fallout's body and helmet. or the same pitiful amount oblivion had. absolutely no pauldrons :sadvaultboy:
never mind those skirts and ponchos (we might be able to get shirts under armour, because i haven't seen any evidence against that yet)

evidence (from screenshots)

1: the body pieces change in size, but the pauldrons goes OVER the body piece.

2: in the game informer mag there are pictures of two different charecters with the exact same pauldron mounted on the body piece)

3: we havent seen anyone with conflicting armour- its either all elven or all leather. we havent seen anyone with a glass naginata, dwemer helmet, orcish pauldrons, daedric greaves, imperial steel skirt, common shirt, netch boots, adamantire right glove and bonemould left, clan volkharim poncho thing and an ebony body piece. along with lots of bling? you would think bethesda would be eager to show of right?

edit- look at the gi pictures. THE GI PICTURES. i do have evidence ok?

secondly- why must armours be sixified? the thing that made tes different from all of the other generic fantasy games was that it had a sense of semi realism. everything weird in it was explained by magic. i dont see why unmagical armour turns from a (usualy) realistic male shape too OMG BIG BEWBZ AND DRESS AND WAIST and every piece of the armour changing for some 14 year old boy. i dont mind a slight change in shape- but when non magical armour completely changes shape into something skimpy it realy makes me lower my disposition towards bethesda. i also dont see why men cant wear dresses. (when it makes sense i am fine, the golden saints and dark seducers worked perfectly well skimpy. especialy since A: it didnt change randomly in the vanila game because you couldent pick it up, and B
its sheogoraths realm, they are daedra, its not meant to make sense

You say we haven't seen anyone with anything but elven or leather armor. But surely there will be more than just two armor types in the entire game, right? Doesn't that suggest that just because you haven't seen it in a GI picture it doesn't necessarily mean it won't be in the game? And since all your concerns are based on only game informer pictures, can't we assume that your concerns may be groundless since we've established that GI pictures don't show everything there is in the game and your concern is about something we haven't seen?

The separate pauldrons makes a world of difference. And while It would be pointless to wear two different boots, many forms of armor only have one arm covered, especially if it is meant to be combined with a heavy shield on the off-hand.

What I'd also like to see is incomplete armor sets. Morrowind had 1 silver helmet and 2 silver cuirasses, but nothing else. You could combine it with steel, or iron or deadric, w/e.

Step back, calm down, a think hard about it. None of the media for Oblivion had mixed armor, I wouldn't expect any different from Skyrim's. Also, your last point has NEVER set TES apart, in fact it was much worse before Morrowind, they may have been fewer cases in Morrowind, but it was still there, and completely back in Oblivion. Be glad the female armor still actually covers the body. Anyway, it doesn't bother me if it stays to the lighter degree of Oblivion, and doesn't happen with clothing.

I love it. I'm 25 by the way, don't really see why six is constantly associated with immaturity on these forums.

I wouldn't mind sixified armour that much. Of course being overly sixified is just hokey.

But armour slots, on the other hand, are a big deal. Oblivion was bad enough, any less than that is unacceptable. And if they adopt Fallout's system? Dear gods. I may just have to resign as an Elder Scrolls fan.
I think the general consensus is that we want Morrowind's highly customizable armour system back, which was leagues better than Oblivions.

25? you young'un, still wet behind the ears!

Seriously, I think the problem is that many people cannot distinguish sixuality, wich is a part of advlt life, and six, wich is a private part of an advlts life.
Just because we like mature themes in our games, doesnt make us pervs.

I wouldnt want to see the skimpy type armour on women though. That kind of style annoys me, no serious heavy armour using warrioress would leave her entire belly uncovered.
I wouldnt mind if armour had six specific looks, you know, to shape the male/female physique. But I wouldnt want skirts to magically become pants on a male.

Let's see...

First, on the issue of armor slots, your evidence isn't strong enough to be worth the consideration. There simply isn't enough info to say one way or another. You're just jumping to conclusions. The worst possible one, too, for that matter.

Second, the issue of armor changing for the different sixes, good. While I'm not saying that I necessarily want boobs on my armor, I do want armor that fits. If armor can change to fit the different races, then why not the different genders? A suit of armor made for the typically bulkier male frame looks horrible on the typically more slender female frame. Plain and simple. I want armor that looks like it fits.

I know what the OP is talking about. At first I thought the pauldrons were different, but then they have multiple pictures of the guy with the same single pauldron, making it look like one set of armor that just comes without a pauldron. But if anything, I think they were showing that to let us know we could have one pauldron.

To back this up, there is a guy with no pauldrons. There is also a guy wearing just a "harness" style armor strap. There's another guy wearing that strap OVER his leather cuirass. So I think we may actually have more armor slots that Morrowind.

I thought the consensus would be to expect an armor system BETTER than morrowind had.

I would suggest rather than have right/left peices just have single glove, paldron, but be able to equipt it to either side, if streamlining is BETHs goal.

Or else this:

Where you can add on little bits and peices to further customize armor. Change the eye gaurds, add spikes, wear chain mail,

Ok, I'll bite, since I've said something like that elsewhere. So I'll explain - but I'm not going to fight about it, since I've had my say on this in another thread, and it's OT for this thread. The claim is not that having sixuality in TES is catering to immature attitudes - far from it. It's rather that certain armour models for females (ie. lots of cleavage and bare skin) seem to be perpetuating a chauvinistic and objectifying depiction of women.

Which helped the porm industry, so it should help others.

TV, Movies, and video games need sixiness to defeat the highest of all fantasies: pormo. At last, that's the logic.

How about showing us the GI pictures? because I don't even know what picturesw you're talking about. That would have been helpful in the OP post.

Yeah sorry I meant a system at least as good as Morrowind's.
Your proposal would be awesome though! Kinda scary though...I don't know how many hours I would spend trying on every single different armour combination
