disgusting fair food

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3275/2974003897_cc500648cf.jpg takes the cake. Looks like frog spawn, is slightly salty (even though it was in sitting in a puddle of syrup). If you laugh too much when you drink it, it burns.

I saw fried oreos and fried pickle chips at the agricultural fair.
That's disgusting. No, I did not try them.

Believe it or not, Fried oreos are absolutely delicious! There is an amusemant park that my wife and I take our daughters to every year, and they have them there. At first we were like you and thought it would be disgusting, but we committed to trying every food there(we are about halfway there, they have a lot of different foods, it's taken us 5 years just to try half and we go 2-3 times a year when we can afford it), so we eventually steeled our nerves, ordered some, and were stunned to find that they were like ambrosia! We've since made our own a few times at home, though we use the double-stuffed oreos for more creamy goodness inside!

Edit: Can someone please explain exactly what fried pepsi/cola is? I can't load youtube videos, and i'm dying to find out how exactly you deep fry a drink. LOL

I'm usually pretty wary of disgusting food at a fair/carnival. Somethings there I really like such as "eggroll on a stick" and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funnel_cake.

I don't like cotton candy. Sue me, I know. The best fair food I've ever had was a deep fried twinkie. Soooo good.

I don't know, I haven't tried anything weird, I'm not much of a food experimenter.
I do like funnel cake tho. Burger King sells them now and there really good, and we use to be able to buy funnel cake mix in a can. Just spray it in a pan of grease and fry it
The fried Twinkies and Coke doesn't sound too bad

Damn you Americans with your funnel cakes and twinkies - you have the best foods. :( My Mum went over there and had a proper giant pretzel - she said it was delicious. And you have pancakes for breakfast. *shakes fist*
If I ever go to America I'll probably have to book an extra seat for the flight back - I want everything deep fried and delicious.

Fried Oreos are actually good although I felt like a disgusting pig after eating them.

The last time I went to the annual fair around here, I had an Italian sausage on a bun with onions and peppers. Made me sick. Dunno why.

While we're on the topic of carnival food, forget oreos and twinkies. There exists deep fried BUTTER. I have officially lost faith in humanity.

How do you even...?

Oh, there is dough around it. So it's just a common butter ball. Meh.

I've had some great fair/festival food. For traditional, county fair food, it's mostly things like tri-tip or some other form of meat. The county I'm from's county fair is in a very small farm/dairy town, so there are lots of local food things run by people who live there. It's not just crappy food. For more "hippie" festivals. the food is very good. Never really had anything bad, though it is expensive.

Probably wasn't cooked long enough, often a failing of fair foods. I regularly eat Italian Sauages with onions/peppers, it's delicious and not really that un-healthy, especially if you get rid of most of the grease.

C'mon you guys are lame. Watch Bizzare Foods if you want to see some of the really nasty stuff people eat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq1jsb9LqHo

A sausage-dog that was in fried-dough instead of a bun. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good, but deep down I knew my colon just exploded.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_dog They sound delicious, but I've never tried it.

I've honestly haven't had bad fair food. I usually only get the giant turkey legs and funnel cakes. I don't like the random deep fried stuff.

Never had fair food as you put it. Whenever we have a fair here in fair New Zealand, the only foods available are cotton candy (or candy floss as we call it), mini donuts, and hot dogs. All very normal fare, which I think is fair.

And waffle dogs are good man.
