I've never found myself levelling carefully so as to maximize attribute bonuses though, I always just let my levelling work naturally in the background.

Then you will find GCD to be a very smooth transition because that's what it does best.

One thing new users must know: You must put the skills you actually use in major/minor. GCD calculates attribute increases from skill increases in proportion to the starting value of the skills. In other words, in vanilla it's common to put some skills you want in misc in order to raise them in the background to raise attributes without affecting level. In GCD, a misc skill starting at 5 will have very little influence, you'll have to raise it 20 points just for 1 attribute point while a major skill might only take 7 points.

In addition, Your choice of majors affects your starting attributes; for example, having several agility skills in major will raise your starting agility several points. The starting attribute levels are a blend of your base racial levels and the total starting skill points in each attribute.

Looking a http://www.mwmythicmods.com/Gluby/Gluby_CharacterDevelopment_Mods.htm he lists GCD as being at version 1.08, but the link he has is dead.

I see only version 1.07c on PES. Is there a lost 1.08 version - perhaps one that has the fixes addressed in this thread? Maybe an alternate download?

Since I have all versions of 1.08 - It looks as though Gluby's is the most comprehensive fix.

So the new question is - what GCD optional esp are OK to use with it?
Either of the settings?
Birthsigns?
Over 60 lvl up speed?


Still am amazed by the numerous mods that I find with fixes pending going on 3+ years. Or fixes only found in forum threads buried deep and only half remembered by veterans. I seem to see less of that with Oblivion.

what i like about GCD:
- mages have low HP even at very high levels (madd leveler created unkillable mages...)
- well balanced magica and magica regeneration for my taste

i dislike about GCD:
- no need to sleep to level up
- no message displayed when leveled up
- skills level up more attributes than one (blocking levels constitution and quickness for example)
- fortify magica effects screw with GCD (i cant use Keening god damned! :banghead: )

can someone tell me - do skills that arent minor or major skills level up attributes too?

Yes but very slowly. The major/minor/misc choice affects skill leveling just as in vanilla but it has no direct effect on attribute leveling which is based on starting skill level. So, a misc skill at 5 will only contribute about 40% as much as a major skill at 40 (starting level). The ratio of level to effect can be edited by changing the skill influence offset in the customize script. Raising the offset will make the starting level have less influence, making a hybrid type character a little easier to manage.

All the plugins should work; I've tried several (not the ones you mention) but they should all work. AFAIK,Gluby didn't make any changes that would affect the plugins since most are either changes to the customize script or additions.
