Mod won't appear in GECK

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:36 pm

The mod appears and works fine in the GECK, I have set encounter zones, and i have saved it. But it still doesn't appear. Help? (and yes, I have the latest version.)

It would be a simple vengeance gatling laser mod, supposed to be found at the entrance of Paradise Falls.

And this weapon is a 'new' model?
Or a vanilla gun that you changed somehow?

Its also possible that an NPC picked up the weapon unless you set it to be ignored by AI.

1. Vanilla model.
2. There are no npcs in proximity of the gun, though I might try that and see.
EDIT: No success.
EDIT: Woop, just realised my topic is misnamed!

It shows up in the geck, but doesn't show up in game... Almost sounds like the mods data file was never selected when loading the game. Hard to tell with so little details to go on.

You've made a weapon, placed it in the world, but it doesn't show up? Why did you need to "set encounter zones"?

You should probably explain exactly what you've done, and why you did it. As it is, no one can help you because we simply don't have enough information.

Ok,
1. I created a plugin (copy of fallout.esm)
2. I placed a model of the vengeance gatling gun at the front gate of paradise falls (note that i have EVE)
3. I edited the base and upped the damage, accuracy (VATS and standard) and rate of fire, for I had been trying to create a beam weapon.
4. I edited the projectile (liberty laser) for effect
5. I renamed the model to "Beam Gun" as well as the name, and created a new form
6. I tried to test it, but the mod didn't show up, so I tried setting an encounter zone (figured I might have needed to encounter it so that it would show)
And, that's where I'm at currently. I am willing to send the file for use in the GECK if need be.

Making the plugin file available to us would be the easiest route to finding the problem.

There is no file attached at the Nexus. Let us know when it is available.

1. You placed the weapons rather high in the air.
2. You place the weapons in the 'Paradise Falls' (PF) worldspace, but outside the doors. You can NEVER get there. If you want to place them outside the doors of PF, then place them in the 'Wasteland' worldspace.

1.Ah! No Idea that I placed them in the air. I thought the GECK snapped them onto the ground.
2. Oh so that was it. Thanks a lot! :D
3. I'm uploading it to the nexus as we speak. Thanks for helping me!

1. You have to either turn havoc on to make them fall to the ground or hit the 'F' key when they are selected to make them 'fall' to the ground.
2. The wrong worldspace is the usual culprit for 'mods not working'.
