A bit more of information is essential here, I'd say.

How did you set it up? Did you use the preset direction or put it into another folder? Which version of Dosbox do you have? Any front-end?

Hi! I'm new here! I'm having a bit of a problem getting the download to work as well. I used the guide you posted and followed it to the letter up but when I did this step:

In DOSBox, start the installer: C:\dfcd\install

I recieved this as a response:

DOS: File not found: data\dagger.col

But I DO have it! Why is it not recognizing it?

If you could help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it! :hugs:

I absolutely love Daggerfall, it is my all time favorite game and brings back so many fond memories from my childhood like watching my dad play the game after church and my little brother and I would hide when he would travel recklessly good times...good times :biglaugh:... now I am in college and am really technologically challenged :) I apologize if this problem has been adressed before. Thank you.

I'm having a similar problem. I've followed the tutorial. but when I type in C:\dfcd\install in Dosbox all I get is another C:/ prompt and nothing happens. I have the files, not sure what I did wrong.

I'm no computer smart type guy, but you could have a "corrupt download". Go into your files that extracted. If the "install" application (or whatever thing it says you don't have), isn't there, then maybe it is corrupt. Download again, and try again. If that STILL doesn't work, downlaod from another place and try again.

My next guess is that you just extracted to the wrong place. Sometimes, Vista likes to suggest things. Tell it to shut up and and pick the place yourself (use browse before starting the extraction).

I have no other guesses. Sorry.

This is probably a corrupt download. Download Daggerfall again from somewhere like Filefront or Fileshack. Bethesda's servers aren't exactly reliable when it comes to delivering games safely.
