Old Mods?

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:16 pm

Should some old mods be in the game already. Like Castle Seaview, or something? Because I'm a 360 user, and want the old mods preloaded onto the game. Or at least some of them.

What? Huh? Are you asking if somehow player-made mods should be included in Skyrim for console users...before they are made? I'm really confused as to what you're asking here.

I think he's asking if prominent mods from oblivion be integrated into vanilla skyrim. Or something like that. Since console won't have mods.

You can plug-in a keyboard into the xbox. So why not use it to enter codes to unlock mods loaded onto the game, but aren't playable until you unlock them.

If you want to use mods so badly, why don't you buy it for PC?

I'm xbox user. I did Oblivion on the xbox, and liked it better then Morrowind on the PC.

There's no real way to have consoles be able to download player-made mods, and it would be ridiculous for Bethesda to pick Oblivion mods that players made and put them into Skyrim where everything is going to be completely different. If you want mods, get Skyrim on the PC. It's worth getting a gaming PC if you don't have one just for the hours and hours of extra gameplay added by Morrowind and Oblivion mods, as well as the millions of Skyrim mods that will come out. Not to mention fun for yourself if you fancy the idea of making your own mods and want to mess around in the Construction Sets.

Good gaming PC's generally cost a lot for a young kid so he probably can't afford one.

why do you need to mod even if it was possible on console there is just no real benefit to it because the consoles will lag to much so none of those high res texture packs.

gamesas would pretty much have to completely rebuild any player mod if they were to include them, so what's the point?

You can use a 360 gamepad on your PC, which basically makes it exactly the same as 360 as long as your PC has the capability to run the game comparably (assuming they make it gamepad compatable, and since oblivion was, I assume Skyrim will be, too).

This doesn't even make sense, only the PC is capable of playing user created mods. Do you mean DLC per chance? Regardless nothing from Oblivion will carry over and any mods made for Oblivion will not work with Skyrim.

My PC isn't a good gaming PC, and it plays Oblivion with graphics update mods just fine now that I've figured out which mod was crashing it.

Of course, we don't know what kind of PC he has, but he didn't say that his PC was incapable, he just said he didn't like PC, which is fine.

They already included some stuff from Oblivion mods, but those are gameplay mechanics. Duke Patrick's SCA Combat Archery for example.

I like the PC. Just not Morrowind on the PC. Plus I got a new Dell Laptop. Works like a charm. Morrowind was on an old PC.

C/P from another thread:

Spoiler
Windows 7 32 bit
Toshiba Satellite A305D
Processor: AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile ZM-82, 2200 Mhz, 2 cores, 2 logical processors
Installed Physical Memory: 3.00 gb
Total Physical Memory: 3.00 gb
Available Physical Memory: 1.78 gb
Total Virtual Memory: 5.99 gb
Available Virtual Memory: 3.56 gb

Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Under "Sound Device" it just says "High Definition Audio Device".

Yeah, it's a pretty good computer, but it's not a gaming PC in any way other than having a decent graphics card, and because of the graphics card it overheats really easily if I'm not careful :brokencomputer:

the fact this PC can game says something this is a good quality CPU I meant you need a good quality CPU to play oblivion mine computer cost 400 bucks and it is much worst than yours in everything except hertz (which is actually greater) but it is a laptop and it cost 750 you see these insane prices for something that cost way cheaper to make the only good side is it is way cheaper to upgrade then buying a new console.

First it's no way skyrim for pc can run Oblivion mods, you could not use Oblvion mod's in fallout 3, or Morrowind mods in Oblivion.
Yes lots of mods was ported from Morrowind to Oblivion.
This usually require serious rewriting.

Bethesda also follow the mod community and might include functions from mods.
One simple function I hope is included is that harvested plants look harvested, Point lookout had this for the fruit you harvested so it's hope.
