Speaking of Fast travel

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:19 pm

Sorry if someone thought of this already, but i haven't seen it discussed.

People are freaking out over fast travel being confirmed in the game, but the developers haven't gone in depth at all to the explain the system.

IMO fast travel should be a system that just travels JUST on the MAIN ROADS, meaning you can only go to Cities, and towns, not ruins and dungeons.

The main differences between this system and Morrowind transportation service system is:
1) you won't have to pay for travel, and
2) you can get back to a city or town that you've been to from the wilderness... I consider it like a metaphorical trail of bread-crumbs.

Personally,, i would like to see a system like that of Morrowind, but seeing how fast travel is confirmed, and how also seeing how two transportation systems might be redundant, I figured this is a pretty fair compromise that i hope more of us will agree with...

Please critique and expand on this idea

P.S. please don't talk about how a Morrowind system should be optional , because I don't want this thread about that.
In this thread, lets just assume that travel services (a la Morrowind) are 100% out. If you can't assume this please just don't post.

No. If I've been to a place, I don't want to have to walk the same path (from the nearest significant settlement) over and over again to return.
