Something i'm not liking about Fallout NV

Aiming down the Sight (ADS) doesn't seem to align, dead center, with the targeting reticule. The Iron sights of the guns are at a weird angle--an angle where the player will never align the iron sights to actually aim. Aiming is still done 100% with the HUD reticule despite there being an ADS play mechanic.

I saw it here in this video.

Agreed, but it's still a vast improvement... I'll be a little bummed and excited about the change at the same time.

This has already been discussed. There is a setting in the options called 'True Ironsights'. What this does when on, is make the gun centered on screen, and remove the reticle. Then it is 100% actually aimed with the ironsights in the game, not the HUD. This pretty much fixes your problem, just make sure this setting is on.

Good to hear. I was about to get pretty upset over them flubbing up something this simple. It is weird that it is a setting you have to turn on though. It looks like if you hit the button in game to go to ironsights that they would assume you wanted to aim with them. I mean, if you want to aim with the reticle, you wouldn't go into ironsights mode, would you?

Well some people like the feel of ironsights (It zooming in and holding the gun up), that more realistic, possibly immersive feel, without actually having to use them. Plus if you were making a game, and thought. Hmm, people mostly want A or B, but we also could very easily add choice C. Wouldn't you add C (Aka, ironsights as seen in the videos) just to please the people who would want that? You can never, well, rarely, have too many choices in a videogame. :D

True. It just seems that option C should be the one you have to turn on with a setting, instead of ironsights not being ironsights being the default. I guarantee that if the default is like what we see in the videos, when the game is released we'll have a ton of threads started by people pissed off about how the ironsights are fake, and we'll have to tell them about the True Sights setting. I mean, in this age of Call of Duty and Medal of Honor and Rainbow Six, etc, etc, most people know how ironsights work, and will expect them to do so by default. Especially those of us with actual military experience.
