Okay, first off Im saying spoiler alert to anyone who hasn't finished Oblivion (Seriously!? You Haven't!?!?)
So all of you remember that quest where we had to read the books to find the mystics Dawn's meeting and what not. You could either read through and find the message yourself (The Fun way, I got excited and pulled it apart like the scooby gang) or you could wait a set amount of time to get the answer from the NPC. My proposition/question is this:
Do you want to have more quests like these? Where all you have is your previous entry, no compass marker, and you have maybe a small bit o help from the npc's? I personally would love this. Even if it's out of the main story, but preferably in it. ANNNNNDDD........!

Yeah, definitely. Oblivion had a few other quests like that as well, the Ayleid ruin in the Mages Guild quest line comes to mind, the one where you have to cast spells on the giant pillar/lock in order to get it to open. As far as I know, there wasn't any easy-solution to that quest, you just had to figure it out.

It's really rewarding, but there shouldn't be too many of them. After a while it gets tedious, and it's a good idea for some of them to have alternate solutions, such as waiting for an NPC to figure it out for you. Looking back, I wish I had tried to figure out the solution to that Mythic Dawn quest on my own, but I was focused more on completing quests and I suppose I wasn't even certain that the puzzle was solvable at that point anyway.

lol i missunderstood what you were asking via the poll question. I thought the poll was asking "should we get quests, or should quest lines change, based upon our actions in the game"

I liked those kinds of quests, but I dont want a crap load of them. Just enough.

What!?!? I how does that happen? The first time I read the books I figured it out, but the quest didn't go, so I always wait til she gets down checking.
OnTopic: Yes I think more quest should be.

Yeah a lot more of these 'detective' puzzles for all quests.

And more environmental quests for the Mages guild, use the magic powers like they are used in the Zelda games (eg: light four torches with fireball, use water walk to be able to reach a high ledge, use feather/levitate to cross a pressure sensitive trapped corridor).

I just remembered a picture of Link solving a rubix cube almost instantly...

Thank you.

It's good there are other people who think quests should actually require the player to use his brain to play and solve the quests. A coconut could solve some of OB's quests for goodness' sake. I think every quest should have a part that requires one to put at least two brain cells to work. Not: click on topic, *poof* pop-up, follow magical imaginary arrow, arrive at the spot, new pop-up reminding you what to do, go back by following the arrow. EPIC FACEPLALM Otherwise I can as well prefer to go and watch paint dry. Or dig a hole in the yard and fill it up again. Requires the same effort.
