Not to be a killjoy, but the law doesn't work that way (at least in the United States). If you commit a crime, regardless of mental disorder or mental retardation (defined as having an IQ below 70), you will still be put in jail / prosecuted if caught.

Although, as with other health problems, you may be hospitalised until you are deemed fit enough to be imprisoned, yes? (Applies more to illnesses than retardation, but I figure its still worth clarifying)

Indeed, but generally that comes with a plea of "not guilty by reason of insanity" or "guilty but mentally ill" or "guilty but insane."

Last time I took an IQ test, I was told I have an IQ of 119.

All this talk about ADHD correlating with high academic intelligence makes me wonder, because through high school, I've gotten mostly B's and C's. Never thought I could have ADHD because I read a lot and could focus on video games and the like. But anyway I was just cruising through high school, nobody thought I was smart so I wasn't bothered and it was great.

But then *E-PEEN ALERT* I got a 2400 on the SAT. So now my school counselor insists I must have a learning disorder because I do poorly in school, and I have to go to the doctor.
