I don't know if I like or dislike anything. They can write about Skyrim all they want and it doesn't mean much to me. I'll judge these things once I finally see them in action. All the information in the world is useless because a game should only truly be measured by how it plays, not how it seems designed on paper.

That's right for the actual game.

I game my opinions about the GI updates.

Saying it's non biased doesn't make it non biased.

For example you call it an "extreme viking feel" instead of asking what people feel about the game's theme in general - you put a very biased slant and personal judgment on it.

So I take it you don't agree this game looks like it's inspired by Norse/Germanic society and customs so far. What do you think it feels like?

Yep. There's certainly some things that sound interesting in theory but until I try them who knows. Coupled with that I'm a very cynical gamer nowadays and have a tendency not to trust media hype, it all too often over sells things.

I do think it does have a norse look to it, but not going as far as an "extreme viking feel".

Aha. Well, now I know what it's not to you, I say if the option doesn't suit you, just don't pick it and add your own description.

My only worry is the main quest. Dragons, "the chosen one" (=dragonborne) and "super villain that wants to destroy the world" concepts are huge cliches and it won't be easy to make it interesting with that background.

I am unsure about the menus and keeping stuff quiet because I couldn't care less.

The rest, I like.

I didn't really like the GI article about menus. It focused way to much on XBox controls, and really didn't give me any new info in regards to how I will be using the system.

Also the inclusion of fast travel is not something I'm happy about.

Hmm. Extremely hyped by what we have seen of the world-design, creature concept art, music, combat, magic, stealth and combat. I am cautiously awaiting more details on AI, UI. And I am a bit disappointed we did not get anything on writing - in-game books, dialogues, complexity (factions interacting/warring with each other, multiple paths in quests, etc), respect for the subtleties of the Lore around Alduin. I hope that *is* coming soon.

Also raising an eyebrow at the coverage writing style : the journalists, regrettably, did not get to give a personal opinion and input. ;) Fairly certain they're excited about the game too, so why not let them show it ?

I dislike that we're not going to see gameplay footage until these updates are done, well most likely until after the magazine/website buzz has died down around the world.

There's nothing I really dislike about the updates, apart from the vagueness :pinch: But I expect it, it's not like they're going to spoil the whole game within a few months of its announcement. Most stuff I like, the only thing I'm unsure of is the menu/UI and armour design. But I'm only unsure - there wasn't anything there that really disappointed me.

Agreed, this is what I have been most disappointed about hearing very little about. The only thing we've heard about this has been in the Dragon Shout update, where we read a bit about the dragon language, the Greybeards, High Hrothgar, Tiber Septim, etc.

I dislike that the articles almost entirely ignore the existence of the PC which will be the platform i play on.

As a whole i dislike the articles simply for being. They are a reminder of the horrible mendacity from the gaming press and the shameless way in which publishers manipulate them and their readers. The ridiculous exclusivity and the inevitable tonguing and servility from the "journalists" that write the articles and will inevitably award it 10/10 makes me sad. There are a mass of interesting things to find out about Skyrim and a tonne of pertinent questions to be asked. GI have opted to dripfeed us the most bige coloured banolity they could get away with. I'd have been much happier with Beth just freely releasing the info.

I know it's "hate da game not da playa" here but i can't help getting a bad taste in my mouth at the way things have been done and will inevitably be done.

conspiracy theory...

skyrim is a complete pos . the updates are exclusive to game informer in part of a two way deal in which game informer avoids the touchy stuff bethesda failed at in return for more views gained from the exclusivity.

not saying the game will be a pos, but bethesda might have done a few things that will piss of the hardcoe tes fan that they may want overlooked

I like everything about Skyrim... well except for the secrets that Bethesda is keeping.
It would be nice if they would release a gameplay trailer.
