How far are they going with left/right hand combos?

In the GI article, they say they "may" do spell combinations if two different spells are held in both hands.

But what about weapons? Wouldn't it be nice if you could parry attacks with two weapons, or execute special and more devastating attacks depending on your weapon combo?

For example, we know from the GI article that swords cause critical damage, axes bleed and maces ignore armor. What if you had, for example, two maces and if you successfully parry an attack (you should have a VERY small window of opportunity for this) you can counterattack with a low-damage attack, but one that stuns the enemy and makes your attacks ignore armor while the target is stunned.

A dual-dagger rogue should have a more devastating sneak attack/animation, because he is not using one hand to use chameleon or otherwise enhance his sneaking abilities (I am not sure if maintaining a spell requires it to be equipped in a hand, but imo logic and gameplay balance dictate so).

I am not sure if they will include unique combos for different weapon combos though, like Sword/Axe, Mace/Dagger etc... maybe it would be too much for the targeted audience..

I'm pretty sure they said, somewhere, that you can do any combo possible, Mace/Dagger, Sword/Dagger, etc.

I know dual wielding is confirmed, but will we have separate controls for blocking/parrying for both hands independently?

Morrowind had just one button for attack and one for spellcasting.
Oblivion had 2 buttons for attack and block and one for magic.

Separate controls over your left and right hand means having 4 buttons for everything.

If they can pull it off it would allow many different fighting styles.
It also implies that you can no longer cast magic while wielding a two-hander or sword&shield. Bad luck for those who like playing tank-mage.

The previous Block/attack buttons will control each arm, I guess. So, when I use the previous block button, I would use the magic/weapon/shield I have in my left hand.

I think it'll be the bumpers on the console controllers. And there's plenty of button on the keyboard.

Yea I know you can use any weapon combination, but my question was will they add unique COMBOS for the specified combinations. For example a special move only available if you have a sword/dagger equipped, and in similar fashion a unique move for every other combination.

That would make sense, if not for one thing. What if you want to block with one weapon instead of attacking? Let's imagine that you are wielding two shortswords and you want to block with one of them. How are they gonna diferentiate attacking and blocking while still making it intuitive? I can see that happening on the consoles, since you have eg, in the ps3, R1/2 and L1/2, but on the PC you only have LMB and RMB. Unless that if you press the Middle Mouse Button and then one of the others, you block. That would make sense, I reckon

EDIT: And regarding the OP question, I am not sure if they will do special animations/combos for every possible weapon combination. Would be pretty sweet though!
