Problem with House For Sale/Real Furniture and NOM

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:17 pm

Hi all,

Please forgive me if this is raised elsewhere, I have had a look but I'm not very with it at the moment (found out yesterday I have to go in for surgery  )!

I have installed Houses for Sale and used Real Furniture to do up my little place in Suran (I tried shoving a bedroll in there initially and discovered it thought the floor was water LOL). But I have discovered that if I sleep in the bed, which was the point of having a house, NOM doesn't recognise that I have slept and starts shoving penalties on me.

Is there any way of fixing this please?

Hi, from your post I can see two separate problems.

1) NoM thinks the floor is under water. The problem here is that the floor is under the water level, even if water is disabled in the cell. If you enable water in the CS, you'll see that it appears above the floor.
To solve this problem, open the Houses for Sale esp in the CS and go in the menu World --> Interior cell (I hope I remember correctly, I don't have the CS at hand right now). Find the cell of the house in Suran and check the enable water box. The water should appear above the floor. Change the water level to something like -99999, disable water again and save your changes. You should then be able to place your bedroll on the ground without problems.
Notice that a more complete fix for problems like this will be in the next release of MCP, which will get rid of all those water detection problems in cells with no water (making my water level fix mod obsolete :P).

2) The bed problem. Probably the bed doesn't have the "Bed Standard" script as every other bed in the game. Since NoM sleep works using this script, the bed you're using won't satisfy it.
For a solution, I'd need the custom script the bed is using, but I can't look at it right now. In a few days I'll go back to my main pc and I'll be able to help. I could also do a compatibility patch for it.

PS. I hope it's nothing too serious.

Thanks, I've got no real idea of how to use the CS but I'll have a go!

The bed does come up with the normal box but doesn't actually recognise that you have slept.

Yes, the message box is standard, but the scripts behind it are different. As I said, I'll have to look at the mod you're using to understand how to fix that part.
If you need help with the CS, just ask. :)

Thanks very much :) I bought a different house with a different bed in another save and the problems are identical.

What I am really after is being to sleep/cook etc in my own home - maybe the next NOM could have a housing/furniture sales aspect? ;)
