[REQ] Acid-trip shader

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 2:32 pm

I was wondering if someone can get this shader someone applied to minecraft (video link below) to work with MGE.

Here's the video of the shader in Minecraft. I suggest maximizing the video ;-)

Here's a link to the GLSL shader, whatever that means...

It would probably need to be edited to work with MGE, I don't know.

I think it would awesome to use the shader as an effect for when you consume moon sugar.

The Minecraft shader mod by daxnitro is written for use with OGL and uses GLSL as it's shader language. MGE uses HLSL which is basically the dx anolog. I have no idea if the code in that pastebin would be of any use to anyone that wanted to implement this in MGE. There are converters but I'm not sure how accurate they are.

I know MGE can do vertex distortion; if I'm not mistaken, the water waves shader does just that (still hoping that gets ported to XE! :P) and so does the grass animation effect.

If this effect is possible with MGE, might I propose someone also try their hand at a world curvature shader. Not exactly lore correct, but I'm dying to know how it might look.

Lore correct? well, there's plenty of mushrooms in Morrowind...this would shurely be something for the shader gurus to look at :goodjob:

I'm talking about a world curvature shader. Nirn is apparently flat so there wouldn't be any curvature.
