Brink Abilities (speculation)

Post » Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:54 am

As someone who is very much excited for this game, I would like to talk about some of the abilities that might be in Brink. Here are a couple I hope to see, and I'll explain why:

Rocket Jumps; For your heavy weight character, who can't move about or reach tactical places as easily as smaller characters.

Lightweight: Falls from Parkour deal less impact damage. The main reason I would like this is: so if I'm a light character, and I already don't have much health to start with, I want to be sure I won't waste it falling.

Feel free to add your own, and talk about others ideas. Please Keep it clean!

Well there are no rocket launchers only grenade launchers but I kinda would like to see rocket jump. Also that light thing mind of takes away the point of sliding

Howdy, I haven't seen you around, so here's a turtle: :turtle:

I'm all for less fall damage with Lights, it goes with the whole 'agility' thing. EDIT: Oh, as Zero said above, I seem to recall there being slides. So you should be able to break your fall that way.

Rocket jumps in my opinion, however, should not be included for a number of reasons. Firstly, there are no rocket launchers, so it wouldn't make sense. Secondly, the idea of a Heavy flying just doesn't sit well with me. Thirdly, and related to the second one, Heavies aren't supposed to be equally mobile to other bodytypes. It's an intentional tradeoff, less mobility for bigger weapons and more health...giving them a mobility move would completely wreck the balance.

Enjoy your turtle!

This + Shooting yourself in the foot should hurt you, not help you.
