PC gets Valve Anti-Cheat as part of thier Steamworks integration.
It's just like any other hack detector, but when it finds a hack (You don't even have to be running it), it takes note of it, but won't ban you right off the bat.
Instead, it waits an unknown amount of time (1-3 weeks) to ban you when you least expect it. Even better, this means hack makers don't know what got through the scanner and what didn't - they can't make better hacks.
If you're still not convinced, look at Counter Strike. World's most played game*, and VAC is the sole reason it isn't hacked to hell and back.**
*That's not an exaggeration
**There are still mat hacks, but those are different.
